Thread: My non-power grind through Rifleman

I am not a power grinder, and I don't like to do the same thing over and over again. I did the quenker/bol/hurtoon thing on Dantooine the first time I tried rifleman and really hated it. Didn't make master because it bored me to tears.
This time I have gone a little different way. To get to novice rifleman I used a lot of speed sliced rifles, snow cake, and Tattoine. I flew up to the city in the NW corner of Tattooine. Made up three boxes by killing things just around the city.
Walked from the NW corner to the NE corner, killing everything in site, and harvesting meat/hide.
Walked back, found a krayt, nw of the krayt graveyard. Took some time out to switch to my PH and kill him, no loot

Once I got to novice rifleman, I had over 300k combat xp from being a Master Swordsman for 3 months. Converted it all into the Rifleman boxes and got 3 and 1/2 boxes of the speed.
Got a speed sliced T21, got in a solo group and went to Talus and pulled Aakuan missions, 2 in the same direction. Walked back and forth between them, killing everything in sight. Picked up conceal shot first(still had plenty of snow cake) so I could actually learn how to play a rifleman. There was nothing more fun then taking cover and conceal shotting random Storm troopers, rogue corsecs, and Aakuans.
During this time I looted a +3 Rifle speed AA, several color crystals, corsec gloves with +3 pistol speed, several Aakuan rings, +5 Ranged defense, and misc other stuff, including a gong adhesive.
The main thing was I enjoyed myself this time, much more than slaughtering quenkers(which should be extinct now BTW).
Just my two cents worth on how much fun I had.

thnx for the info. i agree, grinding on dant is no fun at all (though it does pay well). i am gettung very bored with that and am lookin for something new to do. but ill be flying soonenough 
.

I'm discovering it's fun to hunt different planets just to see all the different kinds of wildlife. It really is amazing the raw number of different animals there are in this game. I was like you guys... grinded Dant for a long while... killed more Mokks and Jantas then you could count. When the Jedi Quests came I started looking around for different ways to grind rifle xp. I hunted on Dathomir some nights, went to Yavin IV a couple of times (thanks, Kez), and currently enjoying Endor (thanks, Barb-wire). I've never done the Aakuan missions, so sounds like those may be next.

This is what I have been doing also. I got so sick of Dantooine, it wasn't funny. All theworlds have a lot to offer. I'm able to level just criscrossing the planet on foot.

Oh man... talk about an awesome flashback! I began this game as a complete MMORPG NOOB on Rori.Now for those who don't know, there are only two citieson Rori - lower left and upper right (Narmle and Restuss) on the map. When I first learned about Waypoints, I had set one near one city and then shuttled to the other city. Later I decided to head for the waypoint (which I had forgotten was at the other city). At that time I didnt know you could put the waypoints displayon your screen and see how far they were. All I had was a blue arrow in the screen pointing in the direction (no distance display).
Remember: at this time no bikes, no buffs, no armor (well, not on Rori yet). So I start walking... was probably barely Marksman at this point, and all I had ever seen were the Ikopis, Nightspiders, and Chubas around the town. All of a sudden I realize I am in the middle of the planet and I am seeing things I have NEVER even dreamed of... Running into my first house-sized Torton is a memory I will never forget. I remember just stopping for several minutes and watching them! To tell you the truth, I don't know how I did NOT die... it took me about 45 minutes to walk from one city to the other. But at that point I was hooked!

I can't stand to do the same thing over. Plus at least I get to see something different, get achance of getting something to help either of my toons out, and really learning the rifleman profession.
If I didn't like my swordsman so much, I would be a Master rifle, master ranger.
Going to the geo caves is worthless, everybody in there is afk, and by judging the odd way their head move, I assume they are running a macro. Plus it is crowded.
I have made a list of things to do in this game, for self content.
Gather RIS components(hard to do when one spawns once a day, with a 1 in 20 chance of getting a drop).
Continue to make life hard for the Nightsisters/Tuskens/Jawa.
Hunt Krayt.
Hunt Nyms for WS components for my WS.
I just keep trying to find new things to do, or new ways of doing it for fun.

ah someone else who didnt grind.
i steer clear of dant cus its the most boring planet out.
mean i have crappy loot, but at least im having fun
