Theres been multiple posts on good specs, search a bit before making another post. Theres one good post on BH/Rifleman/Scout, Ranger/Rifleman, and 2H/Rifleman. Im sure looking at those you can tell wich one is the best for your style of PvP, whether it be solo, or grouped.

All right, but apart from the sanitation droids, bionic limbs, hyper-drive, moisture vaporators, galactic order, abolisment of slavery, star charts, the compact and efficient central government and interplanetary free trade, what has the Empire ever done?"

I am Focusing on PvP. And it really depends on your style of PvP. Are you going to solo or Group? I group with 2 other Rifleman, wich means I dont have to worry about getting Melee or Bounty Hunter to for Close Range. Our target is usually Dead One Shot each, sometimes not even that many shots are needed.

Sooner or later (prob later so it seems) I'm going to just be doing PVP or close to nothing but that. Now i'm thinking what skills will help me. I know sneak and the like skills don't make me invisible to radar (why i'll never know) so i'm thinking of skills that will accually work. Bear in mind that i'm Rodian... so i went with 2h weapon for the mind attack (thinking maybe h2h but i would need to invest more points just for the good attacks). And Rifle, duh... also thinking of going Creature handling for those times i have to get my hands wet, err i mean my 2h sword wet. First aid2 a must, and i'm thinking atleast stimpak-b.

Any other opinions on where to go? I'm thinking BH but that's alot of marksman points i'm not planning on using just to reach BH....ie carbine. Opinions/options...... what do you PvP vets think is a must? I'd like to focus on the mind pool since most of the time it's the lowest stat on the enemy, so it seems....

Yeah im with the above post.

I will be heavily into PvP within afew months, as i think everyone is working the ass of trying to level up in skills.

And i must say this, it does depened entirely on what type of PvP you are wanting to play.

En excert from the movie Navy Seals - "God, we have a problem to the west above the building, can you handle it?"

God, replies "Got it" and then proceed to blast the **edit** out of him.

I really see this as what the Rifleman will be in PvP, being asked to take out a specific target, as well as other rifleman, cant wait for it actually should be insanely intense! Well aslong as our range in eventually increased.

I'd say work with headshot 3/sniper shot (though that's a ton of exp ). Mostpeople have a lower mind than action/health (at least those that are fighting)... as tookrak said, they'd be good for taking out specific targets that are harassing the main group. Then the sniper shot works as an anti-sniper weapon... if the enemy sniper is away from the battle field, you can finish them off before they're able to get back on their feet to snipe again.

For other skills, I'd go with Commando, brawler, or even pistoleer... for if you get too close to the fight.

Finish them off before they get back on their feet again? You make it sound like they're 1000meters away and you cant run thereand DB them in time befeore they come out of incap.

On second thought... 1000 meters,,,,,, hmmm....rifles should have much longer range. I know that 1000 meters is too high but 64? Come on! A sniper's ONLY defense is being able to stay out of the enemy's range. We don't have that right now - since any CDEF pistol can hit us at 64 meters out.

Creature Handling and Bounty Hunter are the two best PvP things to be in the game right now.

BH + fastgun + Underhand Shot = you will never even get a shot off. Underhand shot interrupts your firing and puts you on your back and with a fast gun he'll just keep doing it until you die.

The only thing that can beat this is a Creature Handler's pet, cause the BH can't keep you both down.

So BH + CH = the ultimate combo.

Until they both get nerfed. Which is inevitable.

...

The good news with riflesis ifyou can shoot someone with Mind Shot, you've already won. Even if they incap you, the DOT might incap them before they get a chance to finish you off.

I'd expect some kind of nerf on that too, though, eventually.

No, it's not far, but a well protected sniper, who could be behind a line of other guys, will be harder to kill. If the mind pool is targetted, the medic won't be able to heal him, but in other cases, it just takes one stimpack, and they'll be back. Using the Sniper Shot would be much safer than running through a line of enemies to get point blank with the incap'd player..

. I'd rather not die getting in, killing him, and getting out, while carrying a rifle at point blank range

Doctor and combat medic killers.

No rifle or carbine can deal with self heals of 600-900 damage...have to call in the rifles.

Commandos in a gun turret on top of a base mowing everyone down? I sure don't know..but that too sounds like a rifleman job. Otherwise, i'd be that doctor that is prone next to the commando healing him
