Thread: Best Armor for Rifleman?

I've only used two different types, Bone and a Chitin Chest plate. But for laying prone in support do people go with nothing or some bone armor, which seems to absorb ranged damage?

And for soloing, it would be good to have maybe two types of armor and switch them when someone gets close, just like going to kneeling pistol?

Or is there just really good armor suited for a rifleman that i dont know about?

The really good rifleman armor is no armor. Why need armor when the mob is dead before it reaches you ?

I agree.

They should be dead before they hear your rifle fire.

But seriously. I don't use any armor. So far, the negatives far outweigh the positives. But I really haven't gotten into many fights with humanoid enemies. Mostly still "animals."

I'm halfway to Novice Rifleman with 3.75 Ranged Support, Pistol Specialist and 3.5s across the board in Scout; if that helps you at all.

Bone armor is one of the simplest types of armor and it is very good for absorbing blaster damage. Quite nice for PVP and NPC's.

I haven't seen any yet but some artisan was advertising it... what about padded armor? That sounds light, and probably wouldn't hit the stats as hard. Then again what do I know? I don't know any of the specs on the stuff.

I was also wondering about this. I mean are the high end armors such as Composite useful to a rifleman?

yer i try and avoid armour. i only wear an ubese helm (and thats mainly for looks). trying to get my collection of ST armour built up now (mainly for RP purposes). does anyone know if you can slice ST armour to get its encumberance values down? dont really want to risk ruining it after the effort it takes to get.

Things that are true about the Rifleman Profession:

--Don't bother buying armor for you will kill your enemy at a far before he/she/thing reaches you.

--Buy clothing instead of armor.

--Armor lowers your stats and takes longer for you to heal if wounded.

--Save your money for High Class Rifles

--Very deadly even by hiself/herself as a Rifleman. Working in a group would be best as a Support Sniper.

--On slow moving animals but hard animals use the method/tactic of: MindShot 2, ThreatenShot, MindShot 2, ThreatenShot... and keep alternating.

--Rifleman do possess the strength in skill to take the challenge of Bounty Hunters.
