Thread: Stupid Question about EXP and the Rifleman tree

Quick question:

I noticed while mastering Marksman that, obviously, as I advanced through the tree, the creatures I was killing were giving less and less experience. Seems obvious, right?

Well, since Rifleman takes over three million points of Rifle Experience to master, I was wondering if the same were true for the Rifleman skill tree?

Currently I only learned Intermediate Sniper, so I could get Mind Shot 2, and I've got about 450,000 points of Rifle Exp saved up, and I'm afraid to use it, because I don't want the MOBs I've been hunting to give me drastically less EXP than before.

Does the same hold true? As you advance through the Rifleman skill tree do the same MOBs, some of them really, really tough, give you less EXP?

Just erring on the side of caution before I spend my points. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you do get less and less xp. IfI was you I'd save it up til I hit the max (900k?) and then spend it.

Whats the problem? With your higher skill you should be able to take on harder mobs at the same rate you could take on the mobs right now for roughly the same EXP. You just have to find new lairs to camp.

The trick is finding slow mobs. And lairs that allow you to kite 15 of them at a time.

As you advance in Tiers your XP gets lower. But you can do higher mobs, as mobs con gets lower. So as soon as you hit Tier 4 your XP is gonna be as low as your gonna get. Im currently 3 tiers into the sniper tree. I dont plan on getting the 4th until later on. Since I really dont need long distance death blow until I start PvPing. The best thing to do is cap your XP before you train. That way you were able to get all the XP you needed. It lower about 50 per tier.

Thanks for the advice - but you said it "Lower about 50 per tier".

50 what? Individual experience points per kill? If so, that's basically insignificant, right?

What I wanna know is how you got so much XP in the first place. I just got my first box of Rifleman after like a week of playing.

Justin,

Like I said, find slow mobs and kite 15 of them at a time.

Kiting is when you find a slow mob, or a bunch of slow mobs, shoot them and get them to chase you, but stay well ahead of them, DoTing them or just shooting them, and running them around in circles or back and forth, never getting hit while you damage them.

As if you were trailing a kite behind you.

I'm on Tatooine.........does anyone have examples of good xp-giving slow mobs for that planet? It's taken me almost 3 weeks to get rifle 4, still have about 10K of xp to get. Rifle xp isn't the only thing that is slow to get.......I'm needing combat xp also to finish off my ranged abilities 4. What are good tips for picking up rifle and combat xp? I've tried everything from joining large groups to hunt dragons or fight tuskens.......even soloing red cons by running them back to a rebel outpost for assistance (even though I didn't have faction points, the rebs will assist when big creatures are chasing you towards their camps....just don't expect that help from imps.) At this pace it'll take me months to top out sniper.
