Thread: Ideas for Riflemen
Ok Osiris here with some ideas for our class.
1) Radar: i think at master riflemen we shouldnt show up as Red dots on the radar if we are overt and near enemies. we should still be able to be targeted but it would make alot of sense if we didnt show up as a red dot but rather a blue. IMO snipers in real life are hard to spot and the red dot on the radar sticks out like a sore thumb. once we attack we should become a red dot again though. we are snipers we deserve something of a ranged advantage if we have to fight against knockdown.
2) Knockdown: we, or anyone for that matter, should be able to get knocked down when prone!! I mean your already laying Down!! its stupid that your char stands up and then falls on his back when he is prone. it is just dumb. knockdown shot should fail when someone tries to use it on a prone person.
3) increase our range: why is it that a pistol or carbine has the SAME range as a rifle? that makes no F'ing sense. we should have a max range of 70m since we ARE riflemen. i wouldnt even mind if it was a master riflemen skill. in RL rifles hit for up 500-800m and some as far as 1.5km. ALL i ask is 70 lol
now i know some people are going to say "this will over power us" but Hey....how many times do you encounter a riflemen way out in the open country? MOST skirmishes are fought inside cities limiting the distance for a riflemen. and we dont have a chance in hell against anyone with a knockdown or panic shot. all i ask for is stuff we should already have.

Your not asking for enough with the range. We need 100m.
Here's why:
Although there are people with the ability irl to hit a target at over 100m with a pistol, consistantly, it is a far inferior to a rifle for range.
Our close range detrimant is way out of proportion to a pistols. They hit pretty well at max range were we miss way to much at min. range.
Weapon time delay means mob can be on us in 1 shot. Sorry but I know if I lived after a sniper took a shot at me from max range I wouldn't be able to cover the 800m-1000m range (through the brush or accross loose sand)to start punching him in 6-10 seconds. Could You, or any one else. I don't think so.
Our time to fire should be determined by skill and range not weapon.
Sorry to go back to my real life experience again but....
It's not unreasonable to take 5-10 seconds to aim and fire at a range of 1000m with a .50 cal Sniper rifle.
It is unreasonable to take 7 seconds to hit a targeteven moving at 100m with an M16, (works more like a carbine but technically is an assault rifle)
I see the need to put a delay in to make sure some noob isn't wasted in two seconds but perhapsthey should have given people who actually know about weapons and combat a chance to be in beta. Possibly then we would have had "TERRAIN" be a part of the game instead of window dressing. Weapons that are plausible and combat classes that have specific roles.
