Thread: State of the PvP rifleman
It appears that with the 75% damage reduction, combat will take longer but it will still be a case of "the first knockdown wins". I was actually curious why riflemen do NOT have a knockdown move where as BOTH pistol AND carbine do. Why do riflemen have the 2x melee damage penalty? I know the answer! Riflemen do not have knockdown and suffer terrible close range penalties becasue those are the tradeoffs we take for the ability to OWN everyone at long range. Sounds plausible, right?
Except for the facat that we DON"T OWN at long range like we should.... So if SOE will not give us our class-defining advantage, why does it still stick us with our class defining disadavages? Any thoughts?
It is'nt gonna be as bad as you are thinking for rifleman in pvp.
1: knockdown is getting nerfed bad (alrdy is on the test)
2: pistoleers/carbineers will have problems trying to outdmg highly skilled medics healing powers (won't effect us cause of our ability to dmg the mind).
3: Once you reach master rifleman the rate of fire is VERY fast. Even if I hit for 500 each headshot in pvp, I can do it 1 time every 2 seconds. So basicly we can incap in 2 shots, no biggie.
If anything I think the changes will make us more powerful in pvp, that is just my opinion.
i think we dont get a knock down shot is because we have the ablity to kill some 1 in 1 shot very easy witha laser rifle and head shot 2 i can evern 1 shot incapt some 1 with head shot 3 on my e11 witch has less then half the max dmg we can aslo db the guy form 64 m away.
1 big thing i think you should get when u finish the sniper side of the tree is incressed ranged so we have an advantged on pistolers with ranged knockdown
