I open up with my MS I and II , then I use Flury Shot I to make them dizzy .... then I switch to my pistol and fire off a Suppression Fire until I get one that hits .

Well , this has appeared to work ONE time only , on a dark blue con NPC . All four of the shots hit for damage and display a hit in the combat window , however the NPC is NOT being forced into a posture change by the Suppression Fire .

So can anyone help me out here ? What's going wrong ?

I thought that Flurry makes em dizzy , and suppression forces the posture change which will make them flop onto their backs because they are dizzy . It's not working , although it has been reported here that it is , and I have gotten it to work myself , but only one time .

Is Suppression Fire like Warning Shot ? Is it an attack that can fail even if it connects ? I have noticed that with Warning Shot I can sometimes hit a MOB three or four times with it before it " sticks " . Is suppression fire supposed to work like this too ? If so it's a pretty sucky skill because every shot counts when NpCing or PvPing . Soooooo please give me the lowdown I don't know what the hell is going on

Many thanks

Jon

Suppression Fire is working, you need to do it more then once however. Soemtimes it will not drop them. No need to switch to your pistol btw, you can use it with a rifle. I do it to rebel NPCs all the time, mass dizzy, and suppression fire them all to knock them down, and hope they continually knock themselves down by changing stances.

Ok , Aldeon this is not working in my game .

Out of the ten Suppression Fire 1 attmepts I just made against an Imperial who was dizzy from my Flurry Shot 1 , only one of them " took " .

So unless a 90% failure rate is normal this is broken . I am going to test more and see what I get I'll keep you posted

Yes, it doesnt work like 90 percent of the time, but it has worked for me. Wont know if its supposed to be this way till early next week. I included this in my first report, I had tested it at that time on a player, and out of about 10 suppression fires it did not work. Will see there answer soon.

Ok , I'm going to stop trying to do this then it's getting me killed . Further testing of this got me these results , they're all rough but I aint no scientist .

I hit them with Flurry Shot I and they get dizzy every single time as long as the shot connects . Sometimes the dizzy will make them fall down when they change postures , sometimes it will not . This is something else that I think is broken - if I get the message that the target is dizzy , and it displays the little dizzy icon on it's HAM bar display , then the target should be dizzy and flop onto his back any time he attempts to change postures .

I just had a Stormtrooper fight , and I wacked both of them with Flurry Shot 1 for my opening two shots . Well , what a mistake that was , they both were kneeling , prone , running after me .... whatever they wanted to do and they both had the Dizzy icon on the HAM bars from my FS1 that connected on both shots . Soooooo , this skill going to stay broken ? Hope they know that it's not working correctly atm , unless having it provide absolutely no benefit 50% of the time . I don't know about anyone else but I don't look for " crap shoot " in a special , I look for reliable damage and effects that work properly .

Now , as for Supression Fire 1 , In this last fight I was pumping SF1's into both Troopers as fast as my pistol can shoot them , and it's a 1.4 speed pistol so that's pretty **edit** fast . Both troopers were Dizzied from the FS1's I pumped into them . Got about 7 or 8 off on each one , and none of those 10-15 shots that HIT the target " stuck " and forced the target into a lower position .

So that's a 100% failure rate on that test .

I won't be using this " tactic " anymore , suggest all of you follow suit and Aldeon if you haven't noted it already please inform the Devs that these two skills are not working seperately or in tandem .

Thanks all

Jon

So , suppression fire is like warning shot , then . Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't . Is it supposed to be this way ?

Thanks for the info , btw . I was trying this against Stormtroopers last night and it did not work , but I only tried one or two times on each one . I'll continue until I get them on their backs .
