Hi folks. I'm on Flurry Server and I've been told the minerals for an E11 rifle are not availble, yet I can find the occasional Jawa IonRifle for sale.

So the question is, what good is an Ion Rifle? I have yet to figure out why the "above lvl 3" weapons seem SO much weaker than their lower friends. I understand from a crafter POV that materials make the weapon and these guns need special stuff, is there any reason? I mean does the IonRifle ignore some armor or something?

Bascially I'd like to know if it's worth trading in my old Laser Rifle (Decently Sliced at least) and buy and IonRifle and get it sliced?

Jawa Ion Rifle is AR1 with stun type damage and Laser Rifle is AR2 with energy type.

Personally, Id go for the laser rifle if they had the same DPS before accounting for AR...

So stun damage doesn't really do anything special then? I mean if it'd stop them in their tracks or made them stagger around before coming back at me those extra shots might be worth it.

Then there's the Spraystick. I mean it's a higher Cert than Laser Rifle as well isn't it? What's with the lower cert weapons being BETTER than the upper ones?!?!

I as weaponsmith can say that the reason why lower end models seem to be better than thier higher cert cousins is becuase the lower end weapons usually need generic material. Any metal can be used in some cases, so you just use the ones with the higest properties that are called for. With higher lvl weapons specific resources are needed, most people know this. However when that resource does spawn its just that resource, it may not have good qualities. The resource quality is what makes the weapon. Most of the high end weapons are being made with mediocre specific resources, whilst the lower end weapons can be made with high quality generic resources.

Be one with the nerf.
Let the nerf flow through you.
Only by accepting that there is no nerf will you truly gain controll.
There is no nerf, only balance.

Finding a very specific resource might make things harder, but trying to find a very specific resource that actually has some decent stats is really hard. And a lot of higher end weapons require multiple specific resources, so gathering those together with any decent stats is even more unlikely.

And stun type damage is nice because there is basically no armor that resists it.

I think this is a good thing though. What would be special about the high end weapons if they were so easy to make everyone had them. And what would be the point of the lower end weapons if the high end weapons were everywhere. From a marksman standpoint you can use pretty much all the guns of a given specialization by the end of your first day of playing. So that obviously limits nothing. The high end guns need to be rare, or at least high end guns worth a **edit** need to be.

i have a feeling that the spraysticks will be a lot more useful once they can be made instead of dropped. If weaponsmiths experiment with them like they have been with the laser rifle and scout blasters they have great potential in my opinion.

Sprarysticks are made a lot, still suck. At Master rifleman speed is not a factor.

DMG is king once your master. Don't even consider a low speed gun because most likely the average dmg is lower and you really wont fire any faster.
