I got a guildy to test with me, acuracy. We didnt test special, and I will be testing specials after the patch comes however. (so I dont die so quickly)

This is from 64 meters out kneeling. I was standing he was kneeling. I was shooting back at first, but then stopped. You will notice when it begins to say hes out of range, Im un-armed just taking the shots and healing.

Preen is a master Pistoleer, and Master CH. He shot at me 33 times, and missed 14 out of that 33. When the patch coems I will be testing with specials. Out of all my shots I misses once. 9 shots 1 miss. Again these were all regular shots, next patch I will test specials. But by this log, a pistoleer is not as accurate as us at 64 meters out. I did a second test as well. With a pistoller with only 70 accuracy.

I deleted my shooting him to shorten the log. Out of the 20 shots, he only hit 6 times in this log. Once again, I will again test with specials when the patch comes, so its only 25 eprcent damage instead of 600.

Unless I'm reading wrong that's still greater than 50% accuracy at MAX range. In my mind carbine should be hitting that much at max range, with pistol at least as low as 33%.

It would also be interesting to see what someone with the Pistol BH line + some pistoleer can do.

The problem is never with auto attacks as pistoleer/BH almost never use auto attacks.

The problem lies with Bodyshot1, 2 and 3, who all give a +50 (fifty) accuracy modifier. Effectively it makes Bodyshots never ever miss...

Yes, as I said, I really cant test that till next patch without getting incapped every shot.

So get a doc to stand next to you and heal you up from incap and/or test it out at a clone facility. Dont need to be at full health to test this since we are testing accuracy...

Try it 50 times with specials should be enough to get a reasonableaccurate picture. I know this takes time but this is time well spent. We're all dieing (litterally) to get some "hard proof" on this, the BIG pvp issue...

A very useful comparison to this would be a similar test with a master rifleman shooting the same number of no-special shots at point blank range, the analogous situation to a pistoleer shooting from 64m. They both should suck equally badly. Try to do it with a rifle with similar accuracy modifiers as the pistol used in the test above.

All good points, and I was going to test the up close with a rifleman, and compare the miss rate. But we didnt have time. The person who said do it by the cloning facility. I am willing to spend that hour, of dieng, re-cloning and healing. But, a pistoleers, and a doctor probably will not. So I will wait till monday or tuesday, at wich the patch is supposed to come in.

This is very correct, but I have to ask, are you a master? Becuase at master Rifleman, speed is decreased by ALOT. +90 rifle speed. Takes a 10 second rifle (t21) down to 1 second base speed. Then you have to do specials though, so it comes out a bit higher. 2-3 seconds.

i realize that at master you are lot better than we all realize. Thing is not many people are master riflemen and we ,all riflemen , need lot more help in the growing tree. Starsider is still one of the hardest servers because we dont get the nukeage that other servers get and we are forced to play handicapped. Maybe if we could do the massive damage then we could lvl easier and get to master were by not complain near as much on the forums and address the other issues. I dont doubt master has real good stats but we need alot of help getting there.

Aldeon, I'm a former pistoleer (only novice) and I can tellyou that at 64m hitting a creature with like 8k HP with only bodyshot2, I had like a 95-99% accuracy, no kidding or exageration. +50 accuracy on bodyshots (1, 2 and 3) is kinda ridiculous... Most if not all of the other specials in the game have like +5 to +15 with bodyshots being sooo much above the rest. So take the +55 accuracy mod that NOVICE pistoleers get (even without master marksman), then factor in that even if your weapon has -70 long range mod, it caps at -50, then -50+Bodyshot mod 50 + accuracy mod 55= positive 55 at 64m while using bodyshots... Effectively I'm telling you, you almost NEVER miss a bodyshot at any distance with any gun...

ranges anr acuracy modifier are so messed up like nobody's business....

Aldeon, I still have two questions about those tests:

- Why don't you just take turn hitting a creature tanked by a TKA or a CH pet and compare the misses at 64m? The creatures can have 10k HAM so it will allow for a pretty large sample... What is your reason for not testing on creatures?

- Why don't you just use a crappy cdef weapon so you could use specials now instead of waiting after that patch? With a 17-37 cdef, even with body shots he will hit you (assuming you want to continue to be the guinea pig...) for less dmg than what he hit you in those last tests with hisregular weapon and auto attacks...

Yes thats what a the pistoleer shooting me said. That with specials, they are 10 times more accurate. So apon the patch going live Ill ask him to test with specials.
