Thread: Prone warping?

Does anyone else experience the great suffering that is getting warped backwards when going prone? This happens to me ALL the time, usually when I have run forward in a straight line and immediately go prone. I will do so at a good rifle range (60M) and then suddenly be warped back to 85M or so. Obviously this sucks bad as a rifleman. What can be done to remedy such a disaster?

Thanks!

Appytoral, what is your system set up? It seems our problems are similar, perhaps there is a hardware issue?

Ditto, I only kneel these days.

And I usually warp by a few feet whenever I haven't moved fora while, at least a half-a-minute, such as when sitting in a camp, med centre or cantina. Never been kneeling or prone long enough to warp. Probably something to do with slight avatar positional errors between server and client that get corrected. Shouldn't happen when sitting on an object like a chair, since presumably the server should know thepositionsare the same, but it happens anyway.

It has happened to me three or four times sitting in a chair. All of a sudden, I warp and am barely sitting on the chair lip, or stranger yet, sitting on thin air...

If you do prefer to go prone you should wait a couple of seconds before going prone. If you warp then you would warp to the same place you're at anyway. Of course this wouldn't work very well if you're under attack or against other players, but it does help if you want the 1 extra free shot against creatures or NPCs. (for you that didn't know kneeling gives you one shot before they notice you, prone gives you two).

I dont use prone either but for other reasons. Like you cant heal while prone, and I also have the bad luck of warping melee type mobs. Everytime I try going prone I get some yahoo Warping NPC that appears ontop of me shoving a sword up a$$.

Prone is useless, kneeling works just as good, and you can heal from those position and run if needed. Not too mention the abilities we have while prone are total crap and dont work, like /takecover and /suppriseshot.

just use kneel.
