Because the devs have not fixed the exploit that allows a covert who is grouped with an overt to waltz among a crowd of overt enemies, stand there, and deathblow everyone incapped to his hearts content without fear of becoming overt and attackable. A serious, serious issue when a comrade falls, you put up a defensive front around them, and are being successful at holding back everything that might get in snipershot range. Then, a lone non attackable individual walks amongst the shooting stands among 5 people crouched defending the incappee and delivers a deathblow followed by sundry derogitory /emotes and walks away. Their response "its in the game so its not an exploit". Why do you need sniper shot when this is how most PvP incaps are occurring? Its only good when you are with a crew that knows this is an exploit and does not use it. /endrant.

This will be fixed next patch. If you were grouped with the incapped person, you could have attacked back. You owuld have gained a group TEF. But next patch, its now a faction wide TEF, not just group.

The problem was he was unattackable at all times, I targeted him when I saw him coming and knew what he was up to, kept pressing /shoot, he DBed, kept pressing shoot, he gloated, kept pressing shoot, he walked away, kept pressing shoot. And I was grouped with the incappee. I assume this guy was in a group separate from the one who incapped him.

Then I dont know how he did that. The way it works, if he sniper shotted the incapped player, everyone in the incapped playuers group would have gotten a TEF on him. And you should have been able to attack.

It wasn't with sniper shot. There is some sort of bug that allows for coverts to DB someone without getting a TEF. Generally, as soon as someone in your PvP group falls, you put a defensive front around them to try and keep them from being DBed.What happens then is a covert of the opposite faction will casually walk up and DB the incapped party member without getting a TEF. Frequently, this person will not even get a personal TEF to the one they deathblowed. So basically you have a covert running around DBing your party and their is nothing you can do to stop it.

His point was that sniper shot is relatively worthless with this going on.
