mmmm.... I'd say get 1-0-0-0 for the Mindshot2. You can stack it with the Mindshot1.

Well, if you are pistoleer you also have very strong offensive capabilities. Note that dabbling in Rifleman won't unlock their full potential, which you only get at Master level.
If you have just one tree to fill, have a look at what rifle specials offer anything your pistol specials lack. I think these would be Mind attacks and AE attacks. For the AE attacks, you damage output wiht just one tree will probably be quite low, so it's not worth getting them for the damage but for the state changes.
Ok, first the mind attack. Headshot 2 you will already have, most people will say that Headshot 3 is not worth getting cause the cost/damage ratio is worse than Headshot 2. So stick with Headshot 2. However, I recommend getting Mindshot 2, because you can stack it with Mindshot 1. Apply those two DOTs, then use HS2 if you want to attack the mind pool. For this you will need to get Sniping 1 (1 box).
Then, let's look at the AE attacks. Flurry2, Flushing2, Startel2, Strafe2. Strafe 2 is Master and Startle2 is broken and does not do anything, so this leaves Flurry and Flushing. With almost identical cost, Flushing deals double the damage and Stuns and raises posture, Flurry makes dizzy. While this seems to be a clear winner for Flushing, you have to take into consideration that taking Flurry will give you the big speed bonuses you get from that tree. I'd probably take what fits your playstyle better. If you use KD, dizzy will be pretty good. however, without an area KD you don't benefits as much. AE stun and higher damage is always nice, but it will be much slower. However, if you just want it to apply the stun,m you can always use a high speed rifle to apply it and then switch to pistol for the damage. Flushingshot 2 will require Countersniping III, Flurryshot 2 will require Special abilities 3.
One side note: Since Special ailities takes combat xp instead of rifle xp, and you probably have some combat xp to spare, you might want to go Flurry just because you can get it faster and easier. But even if you don't want to keep this, I'd recommend learning these skills until you have to sureender them, the extra speed will help in leveling your rifle xp.
