ok, i know it's a Dot.... what i'm wondering, is the damage based on what weapon you use? IE if i use a dlt20a vs a lazer rifle... would the dot damage be the same? I'm asking because the lazer rifle, even though it nice when i get 1500 damage, host a HUGE mind cost. As i don't have the funds to test this, wondering if any of you have tested it.

I think Mindshot is based on how much mind the enemy character has, not the weapon used. I've noticed that enemies with a larger mind pool tend to take more damage from a mindshot. This might also be related to a "hidden" focus pool like PCs have. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me

I seriously doubt it is based on the size of the enemy mind pool, because while some enemies die in a whole... 1... tick of the bleed, some last for the entire duration and several other mindshot durations.

its based off how much damage you actual do on your mind shot. so if you hit for 900 damage with mind shot 2 its a 900 damage dot.

I just made Rifle Specialist last nightand it seems that Mindshot may not be working correctly. It states in the description that Mindshot will damage the mind pool and make it bleed as well (paraphrased), but my experience has shown that it is a random pool that takes damage and the same pool that bleeds. I have done body damage with Mindshot and watched the target's health bleed. This is not a good thing when my follow up shot is Headshot. Anyone experience this as well? Is this normal?

Thanks

really? that has never happened to me. I never do actualy DAMAGE with mind shot. It says you use distracting shot on so-and-so for 250 points of damage but actually all that happens is the bleed sets in on his mind pool. Im not sure wuts wrong with your mindshot sounds really jacked up.

I will give it a whirl for a bit longer. It may be that since I am a first time user of this shot and I don't completely understand how it works. I'll let it go for a bit and see if I can make some sense out of it. Initialy, it seemed to be acting wierd.

Have seen where mind shot has hit the target but dont see any damage above the target, and it states *bodyshot* or *legshot* floats off the target.

But every time this happens it still eats away at the targets mind as long as I made contact with the target.

That is exactly what I am seeing. Maybe a little patience will show the actual mind bleed happening.

Does the effictiveness of mind shot change with the weapon you use? Example: if i mind shot with a spraystick will it do the same DOT as a laser? Also do mind shot 1 & 2 still stack?

Mindshots, or any bleed, do not do any initial damage. The hit is calculated, and the damage number is stored to be used each time the bleed timer ticks off. Therefore, ableed with a Laser Rifle will usually be more effective than a bleed with a Spraystick because the Laser is capable of doing so much more damage. With the right Laser and right roll, you can get a 1500 point or higher bleed. You have no hope of achieiving that kind of a bleed with a Spraystick no matter what the target. Spraysticks do not have a high enough max damage to compete for that kind of damage. However, It is, possible with an abysmal rollfor the Laser, and a superb roll for the Spraystick, for the spraystick periodically do a bigger bleed since the Laser's minimum damage is less than the possible maxiumum damage on a Spraystick.
