and how viable are they in comparison to the high end rifles? i have one now however im not impressed with the stats on it. i believe its 98-160ish with a speed of 7+. any information you can provide is appreciated, thanks

mine is about 130-360 6 speed, something like that...and i have another one slightly worse

I found one 120-220ish with 5.5 speed on Lowca. The vendor had a few with better damage and worse speed - 5.5 was the best speed he had.

Mine, after a damage slice, clocks in at about 150-350, 5.2.

my best build and slice is a 182-386, 5.5 speed. tho i have parts for a krayyt i havent assembled yet that will increase speed by 0.7 and max damage by 90

whats the best dooniium iron anyone has seen? my best is about 1500 OQ and Cond. hoping to see a bit better soon

to get a gun you will like thorbacca, you have to use advanced feed mech and adv. power handlers. the adv. barrels are crap on flurry cause our rhodium steel always spawns at OQ <100 so we dont use them. I like the scope for the xtra wound % and small hit bonus but they do increase the HAMs. we cant make adv scopes yet on flurry cause green diamond gemstone has never spawned yet, so i dont know how good they may be.

also, you will need 7-10 exp pts (wpnsmith 0/0/0/4 or masterwpnsmith for 10)to get the higher numbers you are seeing in the replies and it may take several tries to get an optimal experiment. and u need a weaponsmith at least 0/3/0/4 to make decent advanced components for you. then of course you may need to make several before you get the 30%+ slice. i make 10 at a time to hope to get 1 really nice gun. i like the damage slice for bowcasters because of the high min. damage you get and a decent max. I prefer my bowcaster to any non-krayyt laser rifle ive seen cause i never hit for 75 pts when the chips are down like laser rifles tend to do. tho the armor rataing is low so i dont use it on heavy armor foes.

finally, advanced parts require a half dozen specific metals that it takes a while to get the best stats on since a lot of what spawns is crap.

I have been SO frustrated with the lack of decent bowcasters, my well-made dlt20a is better than any bowcaster i've yet seen (though not better than some of the posts on this thread). the main problem is lack of armor peircing - that makes a really huge difference in actual damage (my heavy t21 regularly does 25% or more damage than the combat spam indicates) and the horrible speed (at least it could be as fast as the spraystick so we can ding people to death).

Bleed shots are the one thing it might be good for, since i've heard (haven't confirmed) they ignore armor rating. I like being a wookie but, other than the stat bonuses (which are nice) the benefits blow - +warcry (woop, warcry1 still rarely sticks), bowcaster (ptpthhhpt), +creature handling is a little useful IF you have points for ch...

If anyone can make a rocking bowcaster on Bria I'd be happy to buy it, just so i could run around town holding it, but in general as a weapon it just blows.

unless im fighting heavy armor,I prefer my 218-482 bowcaster to my laser rifle. the HAMs are less, the speed is the same, the wound % is better for PvP. I lose a little on the high end but more than make up for it on the low end. when u start using specials that do 3-5 times damage, always hitting for at least 650 pts is nice, whereas a laser gun will give you the 150 pt shot, usually when the battle is hanging in the balance.

My best bowcaster is also my personal one, of course. After yielding a damage slice (32%) and sticking on a 32% max, 16% min it comes out as 221-512/5.4 and I did not use any special components - regular barrel, old advanced feed and advanced power handlers.

The thing is a bleed monster and a lair buster. Even on autofire it can freak people out.

My standard stock bowcasters I sell are 142-288/5.2 - but I've yet to make any with the new feed mechs because I have such low Iroluun that I can't afford the luxury of exchanging my stock out.

I'm sitting on a few krayt-made power handlers until I get a feed mechanism enhancer (the things seem rare these days) and then try make a monster caster and then pray for a damage slice.
