The SG82 rifle is the only weapon in game that deals cold damage, besides the CryoBan grenade. This is a very cool looking rifle, it emits blue beams, and it sounds cool...but..............it sucks

I belive that the SG82 rifle should not be used as a fighting weapon, but more as a support weapon..here is my proposal.

Give the SG82 rifle a DOT, not a traditional DOT which causes damage, but more of a DOT that leaves the target more vulnerable.
As everyone knows it sucks being cold.
I cannot find any information on the SG28 rifle in the EU, or on any dataase..so im gonna make my own..

The Supercryogenic type 82 (or simply called SG82), is a lightweight weapon, which has two chambers, they are connected together creating a U shape. The lower end of the Rifle holds a removable Cartrage, this cartrage is a chamber which hold a mix of Liquid Nitrogen, and a Cold-resistant gelatin. These two mix to create a sticky sludge with a temperature of -180 C

The upper chamber, contains a Blaster Power handler, which condenses the cold slurry into a molecular beam.
The "shower head" muzzle, containe 5 holes, as the super-condenced cryogenic sludge passes through these openings, they are met with the much warmer outside temperature and slowly exits its molecular state.
They Then melt into a semi frozen slug, when this "slug" impacts with a target, it goes into a semi-solid state, and splatters. The supercooled gelatin splatterd on the target freezes it.....because the gelatin is still coming out of a molecular state, the gelatin stays at the initial temperature of the Liquid Nitrigen for a much longer time.....this affect cannot penetrate armour, but it makes armour extremely brittle, which can be easily damaged.
Also, exposed skin is extremely vulnerable, as everyone has witnessed experiments with Liquid nitrogen....

This DOT, is a freezing dot..On an armoured creature, NPC, or vehicle (AT-ST, AT-AT) it will not damage the target, but it will create holes in certain sections, where the armour will no longer protect the target for a period of time.

For armoured PC's, this DOT will cause an armour hole, and it will cause emmence damage to armour(deducting from the condition of the armour).

On a un-armoured creature, NPC, PC, the DOT will slow the target down, and combat defences will drop by 10.

This way, when fighting in a group, the SG82 rifle, can greatly help the group win against an extremely tough enemie(s)....

Of course...this would also make the SG82 a powerful weapon...that is why the schematic for the Cartridge containing the Super frozen slurry, will be a reward for a very difficult quest...im thinking maybe the reward for the Vette, if you fly under a Neutral banner.

All other SG82 rifles without this special schematic will just be normal SG82's

This information, is not in anyway accurate, i am not an expert in Cryogenic, or molecular sciences, nor am i an expert in weaponry....
(sorry for any mis-spleling

Nice idea. Perhaps its functionality wil be improved when the new armor types come out, bringing with themnew tactics.

Yes, that is what i also thought. I know that they are removing the Armour peircing, and adding in a system of modes...some weapons can be changed from mode 0 (no added bonus to damage) to mode 3 (im guessing 3x the damage)

And certain armours will protect against certain modes...

Your concerns about the SG82, like a lot of concerns about weapons, armor, are being made moot by the CU.

I know that is infuriatingly vague, but meh, I can't say any more.
