Thread: Need knowledgable Rifleman to give opinion on this gun...

Hi all,
I asked about the quality of a rifle I looted the other day but today I looted an even better one...shame its never a carbine for me...lol. Anyway, would appreciate an opinion on this gun in terms of its quality (not making a trade enquiry at this time):
Laser Rifle (sliced)
Condition: 700/750
AP: Medium
AS: 5.0
Damage
Type: Energy
Min: 28
Max: 869 (1148 with PU)
Wnd: 8.6%
Range Mods
(standard)
Special attack costs
Health: 7
Action: 24
Mind: 44
Your considered opinions on this gun would be appreciated as I decide what to do with it. Thanks for your time.

Its a pretty nice gun... It'll hitupwards of 8.5k for strafeshot2.... not factoring in AP bonuses.

Against melee PC's that weapon will really sting - depending on whether you are in the camp of AP working or not working in PVP it's even better. Against ranged PVP the min dmg completely negates its usefulness. PVE - it's light (correction)medium AP and most MoBs I've come across have some sort of armor rating so it will hit similar to a regular T21 in many situations, but would definitely hit against some MoBs harder than others depending on resists and armor rating.
If I were making you an offer, I'd offer 1 million credits - it's a novelty that would be useful in specific situations.

Laser rifles are med ap, not light.
against a PvP range opponent, yea, it will suck. It has promise againt melee types. I would use it against jedi. 1k max damage is nothing to sneeze at, AP doesn't matter against a jedi. It will HURT them when you hit them.
Oh and it has EXTREMLY low ham cost. esp for its damage, right now it may not matter, but Post CURB, that rifle could be a definate gem.

Ranged Mitigation will hurt that Rifle like it does with all Lasers. Ranged Mitigation III drops it to 28/364 (28/476 w/ PU).
But as others have said. It's a great PvE rifle. In PvP mitigation will hurt and there are more accurate rifles (DXR-6b) out there.
But definately a great hunting gun.
