This thread is with the intent of getting the story of your profession.
Now and days people want to grind, or use grenades for combat xp, and whatever "trick" was found to get the xp quicker.
The game does not have to be played like this, it lowers the game and replay value when mindless automaton xp is gained.
Learning the profession like you would in reality enhances your understanding of the profession and raises ur ability in game to comprehend ur skills.
I was a fencer till I became a rifleman, since I was a mayor and guild leader it helped me becapable of incorporating a story into my character and not getting into a jedi grinding stage. Along with fencer I played swordsman, pikeman, and teras kai master (even got master brawler every now and then).
But this isnt about my past as a melee combatant, this is about the present and my work as an imperial rifleman.
For marksman rifles 1 and 2 (intermediate and advanced rifles) I used a good DLT20 rifle I found on the bazaar. It had a nice damage output on it, after a damage slice it was more than enough to get the xp. I started at Moenia then just started running around the planet and killing low level creatures. Note if you want for 1 &2 you can just run around moenia, there are alot of low level creatures and its close to a trainer in the city.
After I got Advanced Rifles I upgraded to a good laser rifle I got from a weaponsmith, with a damage output of high 500 (not in game so I dont have the #)
From there I also upgraded my combat to faction missions, If your a factioned player I cannot stress enough doing faction missions. You still get creds, and xp but you also get faction and the ability to play a more active part in the game. From hear you can start working on rank, getting factioned armor/clothes/weaponry, even deeds for bases and turrets as you raise in rank and can get enough faction to purchase one.
When fighting rebel npc's I found the best trick is to get a set of buffs, wear composite helmet, chest, and legs. Then fill the rest of the armor spots with ubese or clothes of your choice. I carry brandy, muon or a neutron (for those close calls), canape, and synthsteaks.
Once I got expert rifle skill I was in luck, and a good spawn of hide occured on endor. I gained rifle expert, and novice rifleman from gurreck spawns on endor. These give good xp if ur interested in following this route. I had buffs and a full set of 76% base ubese with the same food/drink/spice mentioned above. I still used the spraystick for awhile since it was so fast and could be used up close. Although at times I would get back with a E11 or laser rifle and pull them out until it started coming after me. If 1 came I would stil use the E11, if 2 came I would switch back to the spraystick and use overcharge shot (note get alot of spraysticks from a local weaponsmith and have them sliced for best effect).
Novice rifleman is when it started to get fun, a T21 is alot of fun and is a very worthy rifle. From a local weaponsmith I aquired 6 T21's and had them all sliced by a trustworthy slicer. I chose the highest damage slice and the highest speedslice. Equiped with these monster rifles I started doing more faction missions and became higher in rank getting better missions. It seemed the higher I went in rank the better bases that spawned.
I used the laser rifle with a prone/take cover/aim/overcharge shot method until I got advanced countersniping techniques, from there I aquired 6 dxr6b rifles and them all sliced. Like the T21 I chose the best damage sliced and the best speed slice for xp intake. With a dxr6b xp gets so much better. I used the dxr6b until I got advanced sniping accuracy, which gave me headshot 3. From there I switched back to the T21 and started using the prone/take cover/aim method
Which is where I am right now
Currently im a 3122 rifleman, Colonel in the Empire, and still a student in my profession.
Now I hope people will post there ways of the rifle, and everybody gets something productive learned.
