Jst curious, Last night I saw a what appeared to be a rifleman, with no pets, taking out very high level npc's one at a time. There were about 7 spiderclan witches, elders, guardians, etc. And this guy was just picking them off one at a time, not drawing any agro from the rest of them. I am not calling you guys overpowered or anything like that. Personally I just thought it was really cool. I sat down and watched the guy for a few mins. So anyway on to my question. What skill was this guy using? I am guessing it had something to do with using conceal shoot or something like that. Thanks in advance for your responses.

yeah, he was using conceal shot and staying a good distance away. Just to let you know, if someone gets within 40m, conceal shot is worthless and the 2.5x melee damage modifier kinda sucks. So can high level riflemen kill high level mobs? Yes. But if you're a MCH you can do the same.

Also if you miss twice they charge at ya and your in bad shape.

yes, a rifleman can do this. if your just a rifle man this is Extreemly dangerous. and almost imposible to loot them. i, am a master rifleman, and a master ranger. so, with the right resources, i can sneek past all the sisters (camo) pick off any one i choose (provided they arent the kinetic/blast only vulnerable type, as we have no kinetic or blast weapons tuskan rifle?)

and no conceal is not over powerd, it drains ham like mad! seriously, to take out a storm trooper with my T21 (mind encumb 76) uses half my ham, including health and action. if you have the patience to snipe them, you can, if your a master you will need patience, muon, and food

oh, and i wouldnt say over powerd, by the time i clear a group of 6 nightsister ranger, the first two have usualy respawnd so the sneeking is very nesesary

yeah...some of my PA mates have commented on conceal shot...it's very useful but it does have it's drawbacks...

1) drains ham like it was going out of fashion...as has been pointed out...

2) It is really really really really BORING after a while...I don't use conceal shot now that I'm a master...it's useful for lvling but it's no fun at all

Yeah, the mind-drain for conceal is ridiculous; as well it should be, to keep from becoming overpowered. Factor in the fact that the closer the NPC or mob comes to your position, the more likely they will "blow" your conceal and begin attacking. There's also the fact that if you miss twice, BAM, they know what your up too and will open fire on you.

And if you are concealing something or someone and someone engage in combat anywhere close to the mobs(even at the mobs) They will all aggro you as to revenge the concealment, I was down in a cave today with some friends doing som conceal killing while they healed up and suddenly on of my friends attacked and I got a whole bunch of enemies firing at me, very unpleasant... I'm only lucky they weren't melee ones.

Thanks for the replies guys. Trust me I was not trying to get you guys nerfed. Thats why I asked the question here and not on the main boards. I am a TKA and I know what it is like to have people totaly jump all over your proffesion just becasue you can do one or two cool things. I was just VERY impressed with this guys ablities. I tried to kill one of the wanderers before he got there and she TOTALY kicked my but. I was dead before I could even get into range to kill her. I am glad you guys have such a cool special to play with. To me that is what makes each class worth playing. We each get our own individual "toys" to play with. Unless of course you are a pikeman, and then you just suck. LOL Thanks again and happy hunting.

using my 215-480 bowcaster, i can spam conceal and not get more than 25% mind pool drain after shooting it up to 20 times for 10K + HAM npcs. this may have to do with the fact that my speed isnt that great and conceal has a long recharge, so much of the HAM regenerates between shots. also, the bowcaster HAM rate is under 40 for my gun. I dont use any buffs of any kind.

The answer is no, they stole the precious from us!

Thanks mate. Was hoping to add that to my Carbine repitoir..but I guess not. Looks like I'll go for the Pistols root attack, eh?
