Thread: Changes won't decrease number of rifleman

They will totally eliminate master rifleman, though. There will be no point in master anymore, which means there will be no point in 2 whole rifleman lines.

Rifleman will become majorly dabbleable, and primarily used for the mind DoT's and little else.

I'd keep sniper shot.

Zarl0k, you do realize that trolling does not actually help anything, right?

It's worked wonders for pistoleers, BHs, and commandos.

So you consider that a good excuse to behave immature on the forums?

I don't really see his post as being immature.

Right now the concealment line is pretty useless unless you are mastering, counter sniping is only good if you want to pick up flushingshot2. And the speed modifiers probably be much use if you hard cap at 3 s. You wouldn't need too much more than a +50 speed.

Also, unless something is done about healing in combat and being delayed by weapon speed, rifle won't be desireableto use witha medic class. It's decent right now because at master you can still shoot every second and heal and you can migrate all points to mind its pretty effective.

As rifle currently is, honestly i don't see much more for it than dabbling for alot of people. I don't think cover will be worthwhile in PvP no matter what changes they do to it. Unless it makes you nigh invincible, no one will use it in PvP, and in PvE its just as bad since most mob's can close in by the time you get 1 or 2 shots and there's not alot worth killing that you can take out.

I'll stick with rifle unless it becomes worthless with combat medic, and then i might just start over into a chef or something.

What's wrong with that?

Every other profession is dabblable. The best template right now is BH/CH/Medic. Don't master any of them and you'll have enough points for a Rancor pet, 500 point heals, Eyeshot and one-shot-kills from your LLC at close range.

I frankly think they need more emphasis on Master levels, not less, but if that's the way they're going to go then riflemen need to go that way too.

I'm tired of hearing how riflemen problems go away at master. Nobody masters pistoleer. Nobody masters bounty hunter. Nobody masters creature handler. Why should you expect riflemen to all become masters?

Cause unlike carbineer and pistoleer, we don't have a "combo" hybrid to compliment us. somehow a launcher pistol qualifies as a pistol yet an acid rifle is a...?? Garden hose?

Heh, a garden hose. That made me laugh. I agree I'm sitting at 1 skill box from Master Rifleman and 1 from Master Combat Medic and I can't bring myself to finish the Rifleman one until I found out what's going on. The 3 sec speed cap would totally kill rifle for me. I'd never be able to use it if I wanted to use any of my Combat Medic skills because it would take FOREVER.

Oh well the xtra points will be nice I guess.

I don't see the proposed changes making master Rifleman useless. I don't think the cap will stay at three seconds. given a period of time the schmucks at SOE will realized they f*cked up yet again and change it. Sure it will go in but it will change withing a few weeks. They've started this vicious cycle were they scramble to make a change to fix a fix they scrambled to make earlier. Untill they step back and actualy take the time to look at what they have and figure out what they're doing we don't have to worry much about the changes. It's like the old joke about New England weather. If you don't like it, wait ten minutes.

Sure these changes suck as they make them. Don't worry the'll be suckier ones the next time to make us forget all about the three second cap.

I'm sure somewhere down the road they will take all our rifle ammoaway and have us run around yelling "bang". Oh sorry that was my first few years in the Army, when the democrats rapedthe defensebudget.

These changes would be fine, if they made us the masters of long range. Although I would prefer a 2 second cap.
