Thread: Calling Two Pets At Once Worth Giving Up Pistoleer For?
I think I almost have my wookiee character built just like I want. I am CH 2/2/0/2 right now. I want to be 3/3/0/3 so I can call a grand wrix and greater sludge panther at the same time. I figure that would be the best CL 45 combo available (let me know if there's a better one).
I'm also a Novice BH with LLC4 - I'm never giving that up, lol.
I'm also a Novice Rifleman, Novice Pistoleer and Novice Carbineer. I use my rifles a lot and my carbines some. Don't use pistols much, when I do, it's always the Scatter.
And finally, I'm a Novice Medic with First Aid 1 & 2 and Diagnostic 1. I love those fast heals in the wilderness and I don't want to give that up, either.
So my thought is this - give up Novice Pistoleer and get the 9 skill points I need to max out at 250 and have CM 3/3/0/3. Is it worth giving up Novice Pistoleer to do this?

Drop the rifle and get more pistols skill.
Seriously.
Your pets will mostly be hitting health. You'll kill stuff a lot faster if you can also concentrate on hitting health, which means pistols.
At any rate, 2 pets are nice, especially for PvP. A given target can only warning shot one pet at a time.
I would drop Novice Rifleman, but it has T21 cert which gives me the only AR3 gun I have. It comes in handy against some creatures (and NPCs) that have good electricity protection against my LLC4.
Your point about pistol hitting the health bar is a good one, though. That sounds nice. But everytime my LLC does so much more damage than my scatter pistol, I hardly use it.
