Thread: No exp for Mind Bleed ?

I am a Swordsman/Rifleman and use the 2 Rifleman mind hits to pull a mob and finish with sword mind hits and head hits. I often get 0 exp for Rifleman, if I don't get an additional headshot in. It seems, that mind bleeds give no exp, even if they contribute a good amount to the total damage.

Yeah I noticed the same thing when I killed a bunch of NPCs with mindshot. Hopefully its just a bug or something.

You need to hit whatever it is with one non-bleed shot in order to get xp for that weapon. This is true for pistols to, you can bleed something to death with only hitting it once with the bleed shot and get nothing but if you bleed it, then get one non-bleed shot in and let it bleed to death you get full xp.

Many riflemen use MS2 + MS1 + Headshot.

I prefer the following sequence:
1. go prone at 60m...
2. Mindshot2 .... make sure it hits, if not fire it again
3. Headshot2 ... make sure it hits, if not fire it again ...Now I will get my XP!
4. Mindshot1 ... if it misses, and IF you have time, fire it again.

If you don't get that last Mindshot1 in, at least you will stillhave a (hopefully) decent bleed and WILL get XP.

Use this function to your advantage to get other weapon xp.

Get some killer bleeds on mind going, then switch to another weapon type. Only do normal damage with that weapon, mob drops and bam, tons of xp for a weapon you could never have killed it with. I did this to get my last 35k unarmed xp for smuggler. Piece of cake.

Now imagine going to Talus wanting to get master marksman, but you have never used a carbine before.

Find a Tortur, MS 1 and 2, then leg shot it until it incaps you (if it gets that far). It will not kill you the first time, so don't let it get you on the ground again. And remember that bleeds last for 9 rounds, so you can calculate how effective your bleeds will be based on their initial "damage".

After one tortur you will have maxed out your carbine xp for the first box! (probably. At the least, you will be able to get box 2.

I consider this a feature. It seems also that the amount of xp given when using different weapons on a bleeding mob depends on the damage you do with each, not including the bleed.

Example: If I bleed a Tortur Bull for 1000 and 700 (best combo I've gotten so far), then I hit the thing for 100 damage unarmed, then switch to rifle and hit for 200 before it one shots me (cause I'm holding a rifle), 2/3 of the xp award will be rifle, and the remaining 1/3 will be unarmed.

Do not bleed when grouping, because you won't get the XP for the bleed damage even if you use a regular hit. When someone else starts attacking the mob it cuts into your experience evenly.

Grouping? What's that?
