i am a Bothan and i am a rifle specalist right now, I can solo things with 2 to 3k HAM if they dont see me, but if a creature attacks me back (even something as small as a chuba) it will kill me very quickly, is it my race or is this happening to all riflemen, if it is the race can anyone give me a tip on what combat class I should take up to go along with my Ranger skills?

It's because of 2.5x melee penalty(if its removed on weapons likeFT and LLC I'm all for it)and our horrid accuracy at pointblank(which I agree with btw), a chuba can hit you for 60 I believe. If your not Master and have a slow weapon you can very easily die from3-4 chubas, get a spray stick and you should be fine.

I am currently using a lazer rifle and Chubas are doing 100 or so dmg to me but as long as it is not the fact i am a bothan and that is happening to everyone I am happy

Many Rifleman have a second weapon profession for short range instead of using a spray stick. Common choices are pistol (good point blank specials and knockdown/dizzy) or 2handed sword (can attack the mind pool).
