Rifleman Archive

Hey!

I am looking for some advice, I am a novice Rifleman, as well as Novice Carbine and Novice Pistoleer.

Out of the 3, I have yto admit I do enjoy the Rifleman profession the best, I am just asking am I making the right decision to be a Rifleman rather than Carbine or Pistol!

I would hate to make the wrong choice!!!

Go with what you want, but if you want to be a powerful player, go Pistoleer/BH or Carbineer/BH. If you go with rifles, well, good luck, we'll welcome you into the fold.

Noone knows until the combat Dev comes up with his next proposal. If you just want to be a good combat character, BH has always been good and I suspect, it will continue to be good.

Carbine seems poor from what I've read, unless you take BH as well. Pistol is good in PvE, not so good in PvP unless you take BH pistol,then it becomes the best PvP template. Rifle is good at master in PvE and PvP, but you could do with a close range skill to help with that 2.5x melee penalty, I've chosen to pick up TKA knockdown1.

This question is asked a lot, and I always respond with "Depends on what you like to do".

PvP (group) .... Rifleman is support, and near master can really help out a group.
I haven't done this... just read the forums a lot.

PvP (solo) ....... You probably want one of the other professions.
Rifleman is often at a disadvantage, but can win at times if he plays smart.
Again, I dont PvP much, so this is based on my forum readings.

PvE (no pets) ..... Rifleman rocks. It may be tougher than some other professions, but
I really get a kick out of tackling the tougher mobs! There is often a
good amount of strategy and positioning to think about.

PvE (pets) ....... I am a purist and don't do this. But you will probably gain XP much
faster and easier if you use pets.

So bottom line, if you are going for "easy" go one of the other professions. If you are going for "fun", welcome aboard mate!
