Was asked for some levelling advice on the messenger since I have helped a friend of mine to level very quickly.. it wouldn't let me send a message with > 2000 chars so I am posting it here. Please excuse the bad punctuation and redundant thoughts, I don't have the time to edit it

Get a good pet as soon as you can, if you don't have CH already then I would suggest getting a Mountain Krevol. Yes, this will cost you credits. Post on your servers board, and ask if any creature handler has one for sale, you may need about 15k to purchase one. Make sure you buy alot of pet stims also

If you can find a doctor to buff up the pet that is best. When you get your missions look at the HAM of themobs, you can do this by moving the server crosshair over the ham bars of the targetted mob. Also, look for mobs that don't assist until you get FS2 because otherwise your pet will just take an extra beating.

Keep track of how much exp you get/Ham of the mob.. I leveled up on Tortur on Talus, and then after I had flushing shot 2Baz Nitches on Dathomir(I also leveled up CH which is probably the most complimentary profession for a rifleman). There can be very big differences.. some mobs have very high ham/resists but give little exp.. the blue con, white con, red con system is fairly useless.

Snorbal's on Lok are also very good if you have mindshot1/mindshot2.. you won't need a pet for those, they run slower than you. Just look for 11k missions on the terminal.

Always make sure you have a good weapon, you'll want to use a laser rifle as soon as you can, and then a T-21 as soon as you can. Buy them from a master weaponsmith shop not from the bazaar.

I'll outline to you how my friend is doing it.

First off I gave her agood DLT20a. She ran around killing easy missions on tatooine to start like kreetles etc. She leveled up quickly to rifle 4, and after completing rifle 3 I gave her aLaser Rifle and took her to Talus. Now, the key with missions is that if you don't need the money you can get them to repop by not killing the lair. What you do is get 2 missions in the same direction, and after you've killed all the mobs from one lair you head to the other lair. The pops from one tortur lair are worth an avg. of around 15k exp.. if you can find 2 lairs fairly close you can grind out about 8 missions an hour for around 120k exp. Mountain krevol's, and rock beetles are pretty tough, a full grown one can tank a tortur extremely well.

Admittedly I gave my friend the best weapons etc. to start out with.. if money is an issue for you i would suggest running some missions and saving up for some wind power harvesters (usually around 2k each so for a couple you'll need to save up about 10k from running missions since there are maintenance costs).. you'll need to get novice artisan I believe to use a wind surveying tool. I played on a second server for a while, and in a few days I was making around 60k/day selling wind power in the bazaar spending around 1/2 an hour to run and empty my harvesters.

Mask scent from novice scout is good to pick up as it will give you an extra shot or 2 before the mob comes towards you. If you go prone, even as a low novice you can get off 4-5 shots from a rifle with mask scent on.. enough to kill most mobs.

As soon as my friend gets flushing shot 2 I'm going to take her to Dathomir and have one of my pets tank baz nitches for her. I was 2/2/3/2 in the rifleman tree when I found out about these mobs.. send in a good pet (graul mauler is the best, but you will need 3/2/0/0 in creature handler to use it) have all the mobs aggro on the pet, and then just fire flushing shot 2's.. you can clear a lair like this in about 5-6 minutes for around 30-45k exp. I was getting the top boxes in the rifleman profession in 1-2 hours using this strategy and the strategy of bouncing between lairs.

My friend is pretty gung-ho about it atm.. I think she played through an entire night the first day lol and is having fun with the rifleman/pet power. No doubt in my mind when she moves up to FS2 (probably tonight) she will get master rifleman in a few days.

I know it's pretty tough when you're starting out without much credits etc. the best advice is probably to check the ham of the mob and keep track of how much exp you get, to always make sure you have a good weapon, to work on CH, and to make sure you go for FS2 first for the area of effect attack. There's also an armor guide under advanced guides on starwarsgalaxies.stations.sony.com that you can use to calculate how much damage you will be doing on a mob per shot. Tortur (Talus), Bantha (Tatooine), Baz Nitches (Dathomir) are great exp/ham. The rewards at the end are worth it, I've soloed a Gorax, a Giant Dune Kimoglia, and many Juvenile Canyon Krayt Dragons with ease, I can also solo missions on endor for about 120-200k an hour if you're interested in that sort of things. I know it seems tough, just remember that the real power of the rifleman is in his AE's, and once you get the first of theseAE's (first one is flushing shot2) with a good pet (either at least a grand wrix, or a doctor buffed rock beetle/mountain krevol) levelling is a breeze.

heh im trying to sell Wind power on my server... its not really worth the harvester costs. People get their own energy so you have no guarantee it will sell. Maintenance costs for wind harveters are retardedly high and when you sell on the bazaar often times you get undercut by some **edit** who sells it at lower price than you. With an OK spot and a small harvester you get 1500 a day which is how much maintinance it costs per day, so you have to sell at at least 2.5 to make a good profit worth your time...

anyways yeah if you're using a pet to tank mobs, it sucks that your best attacks hit mind so you cant help your pet take the mob down faster because they're doing random attacks that usually hit health and action more.

hehe, ignore the wind power thing then.. about a month ago I had success with that. I remember reading something in the patch notes now that they made power quality actually mater.

Pets generally don't do much damage compared to you anyways as far as that goes.
