Thread: Snipershot: why less FP?
Why is it that we get less FP for using snipershot to DB? I can see what the devs were thinking: "well it's easier and less dangerous to db from far away, so we'll make it less of a reward!" But come on... it's a really high level skill, and we earned it. It's like giving less FP to someone for using a really nice weapon, because that makes it easier for them to win.
Of course, I guess the FP in pvp is minimal anyway, so maybe no one cares. For me it's just the principle.
The FP you get off another player depends on that player's rank and accumulated FP, so it's different for each. I've gotten between 0 - 39 faction points.

yeah thats what i was thinking too
I haven't used snipershot much, but if you think it causes a signifigant loss in FP do some tests with a friend of the opposite faction then come back and make another tread about it, I would be interested to read.
The FP you get also depends on the skill you have with the weapon in hand.
If I DB someone with my rifle I get a ton less FP than if I DP the same person with no weapon in my hand.
Try it sometime.
Just like when you roll missions without a rifle in your hand you get all low lvl missions.

I don't believe the fp is a matter of faction rank... from everything I've experienced and heard, it seems to be based on skill (which is why I, as a master rifleman, tend to get squat for kills and lose a ton for dying).
I am almost positive that sniper shot gives less fp, and causes the enemy to lose less. When I snipershot, the other guy claims to lose less than by a normal db, and I tend to gain less. I haven't done actual tests (and I don't plan to because the current pvp system pisses me off), but I'm not the only one who has observed this.
