I finally hit sniper in our skill tree and decided I was going to get a T21 that was sliced for pvp meaning at least a 30% slice on max damage. I spent the better part of the day using the 200k bankroll that I saved up from weeks of playing trying to get my "uber"T21. I purchased 7 of them from a master weaponsmith on Chilastra throughout the day and cleared his vendor. All the slices I ended up getter were worthless to my cause. I tried 5 different master smugglers as well and i'm now extremely bitter. I received 2 slices under 20% for speed, 3 around 28% speed, and 2 15% damage. I can't believe I'm this unlucky.

So if anyone on Chilastra has a T21 that is well made (ex. 377 max damage) and can have it sliced by a master smuggler with a high damage slice I will pay dearly. I am cursed and do not want to lose 200k again so while someone gives me a hand i'll be mission grinding to get the cash for ya.

I bought 4 Pre-Nerfs before they raised the price on them, 3 have been sliced for speed so far, I am holding on to the last one hoping beyond hope that they alow smugglers to decide what kind of slice they do, speed or damage.

HAHA i had 8 rifles sliced, 7 speed 1 damage. I wasn't a happy camper but it was funny.

what are your prenerfs stats?

Someone on Starsider bought a Krayt Tissue+Stock Laser Rifle for 200k, I pitty him if he gets a speed slice. Thats the only reason I didnt bid, it was unsliced, and I would kill myself if I got it speed sliced.

Why is Speed seem to be a "Bad slice?"

I have a lazer rifle 84-470 (i dont remeber the max dmg but its something around there) speed 4.6 (i think) i WANTED it sliced for speed. i dont understand why so many people wan damage sliced, inlighten me (i do realy want to find out, im not flaming)

18 weapons --- 2 all advanced lasers, 4 T21, 10 identical adv power handlier 40 400 5.6 58HAM lasers, 2 Lasers made for damage.

16 out of the 18 sliced for speed. 1 sliced for 29 percent damage the other for 19 percent damage.

I no longer buy unsliced weapons. Intrepid has 3 or 4 master weapon smiths that sell persliced.

I did buy a 200k Kryat Laser w/ scopethat was sliced for 29% damage. With Max/Min power up it came out to 100 - 750 5.7 113 HAM.

The next day another weapon smith on our server who tends to make high dmg (semi-high HAM) laser rifles contacts me. He has a 40% sliced laser for 25k. With power up Max/Min its 117 - 7685.7 89 HAM.

Bottom line is Slice > greater than all. It can make a medicore gun great or a great gun medicore.

Yes I know..ham on both these are high... Its my bleed gun!

I am hoping another weapon smith that makes 43 - 405 5.7 58 HAM guns will get me a great damage sliced one too.

On a side note...

The master slicers I deal with have ALL told me weapons that use advanced componets SEEM to sliced for speed.

Rifles in general seem to slice for speed.

Kryat weapons tend to slice for speed.

There is SOMETHING that maxes slices more than totally random. What exactly it is..not sure yet.

because at master rifleman you can shoot pretty much any weapon at the 1s speed cap. Also those specials drain alot of mind, so if you shoot specials every second you blow your mind pool in less than 10s.

lol... I know that feeling, which is why I always stock up on my muon gold... even though I'm only half way or so to Master, I do feel like a "mini-god" when I'm jacked up on spice... heh My only regret is for not choosing a Zabrak with their insane mind regen and defense to state changes. Nonetheless, I still prefer Bothan, even though the only practical race skill I have is "cover"... which I still fail at more times than I can count. lol

Not true unless you also master Marksman. You wouldn't consistantly get one shot per second as just a Master Rifleman with a laser rifle doing SS2.

Maybe after the Big Patch you can get a skill attachment to make up the difference, though.

Why do I like damage over speed? Two reasons, guns wear out, the more times you shoot them the faster they wear out, if it takes 3 shots with a speed sliced gun or 2 shots with a damage sliced gun to kill joe monster, the speed sliced gun will wear out 50% faster, Second reason is powerups, throw a damage powerup on a high damage slow firing gun and it lasts FOREVER, try throwing a powerup on a spray stick, its done after one fight. Your DPS pretty much stays the same if you get a speed slice or damage slice (until you hit the cap) so why wear your gun and powerups out faster. If you get swarmed by critters that youcan easily one shot, then get a second gun that is speed sliced to kill things faster, and use your big gun on those 10k+ HAM beasties.
