I haven't had many problems with Conceal Shot. Its worked for me almost all of the time, though usually only after quite a few tries. Reading on this board all the problems everyone is having,I decided to investigate further. I have two friends who are Riflemen that live close by me. I went over thier houses to see why they had so many problems.
So I had them show me how they use Cover. For the life of them they couldnt do it. When i tried on thier PC's I couldnt either. So I thought about what I do.
I go prone, wait a few seconds, zoom all the way in to a 1st person view...A ha!
That's what my friends weren't doing. Once we zoomed all the way in on thier respective toons, it took at most 10 tries to get into Cover. They told me they hate playing like that, but once your in Coveryou can zoom out fine and dandy, without breaking cover.
If you have 5 minutes to spare, please try this on your own toons, it doesnt hurt to see if it works does it?

this does not always work as I play 1st person 100% of the time and it fails multiple times without error messages for me most times.

it took at most 10 tries to get into Cover
Repeated for emphasis.
10 tries is absurd, especially if that's an "improvement".
Master Rifleman should not need more than 2 or 3 "attempts" to go under cover. Novice? Sure. But not at Master
The "improvement" is far more likely to have been from the fact that you *waited a few seconds* before attempting to /cover. The longer you wait in the prone position for any of the buggy abilities (Snipe/cover/conceal/aim (and others not from our profession)) the more likely the ability is to go off first time.
