Thread: Action cost formula?

I wonder if action cost formula might work like force cost formula. Someone has found out that force cost is:

Base special force cost + saber force cost x special force cost modifier

My guess is that action cost work the same. Every special has a base action cost (absolute number) + an action cost modifier. So for example:

Base action cost is 100, modifier is 1.25 and sac on rifle is 100 then the action cost for firing the special is 100 + 100x1.25 = 225

If it is like this then the action cost do follow a diminishing return (how much depends on the base cost for the special, if that is low then SAC on weapon is more important).

I have a feeling it works like this. I also believe that the base action cost for rifle specials (and BH specials at least those I use) might be pretty high but the modifier being low. I base this assumptions on that I don't see any big difference in action cost when I use a low sac rifle compared to a high sac rifle. But I know other players using pistols who are saying that for them SAC make a big difference.

It is a bit hard to test (unlike force cost) since we don't have any hard numbers on action only % left. So hard to find out exactly how it works.

Yes, as you've stated the numbers will need to be represented in a % form to be meaningful for game purposes.

But, interesting thread. Hope to see some info about this.
