Thread: An Original Trilogy Rifle that's rarely seen

Something of interest to the Rifleman community. While browsing around I came across a website that specialized in Stormtrooper / Fett armor props: TK409.com

Scroll around and you'll see a fan made prop of the "Imperial MG15 Blaster" on the main page of the site. I do now recall seeing a Stormtrooper equipped with one of these. I want to say it was the short scene when the Millenium Falcon blasts off from Mos Eisley, and there were a couple Stormtroopers in the streets who see the take off. One of the troopers had this weapon.

So... how about it *Ms.* Rifleman Correspondent? I know we had some new rifles from the CU, but there can never be too many guns. It also gives greater variation to the Stormtrooper clad players with different, canon weapons.

P.S.- Sorry for the clicky problems... D'oh!
P.S.S.- Okay, I fixed the Mr. thing!

It was in several different shots but I doubt we'll see it.

Its called the MG15 because it was actually a MG15 automatic german machine gun (WWI era - used mostly on airplanes).

The germans later developed the MG34 which was far suprior and saw heavy use in ground battles in WWII - This machine gun was ALSO used in a couple star wars shots.

The MG-42 (another popular German Machine gun) was also used in a couple shots.

... as I think about it a little more, nearly every blaster in star wars is a moded WWII or WWI weapon. Check out http://www.partsofsw.com it has most of them listed.

My Favorite is the scout blaster, its acutally just a scope with a handle and pointy end attached. Another is, obi-wans lightsaber? The grib is actually a rifle-launched-grenade.

I never realized the thing was an actual gun made into a prop.

Nowadays I could readily tell some of the props used were MP-44s (Rebels on Hoth), MG-42s, and MG34 (which was only probably demilled, I bet).

Don't forget the DL44. Its a german WW1 1912 (1916) 9mm (parabellum) Mauser.

It would be cool to have another rifle from the movies. BTW, the T21 is/was a Lewis Gun from WWI.

Don't have to do the Tiggs thing and pounce... my disloy.... er loyal friends always point it out eventually . Really I don't care much as people will never be able toaccept proof over the internetthatI am female, male, computer ai or even alien with a gender humans don't understand at all. I answer to anything except insults and as long as people are polite I sometimes correct them but most of the time ignore the issue

anyway - still working on the devs for more rifles (always ^_^) and a rifle from the movies is always easier to get approval for so i will pass this along and maybe (don't hold your breathe - you will die before they answer) they will answer.

You're a female in-game hence I think it's ok to use "she" since you're right, we don't know any better

As long as we're playing SW gun trivia, the Tusken rifles are WW2 Lee-Enfields with the fore-stocks removed.

Actually, I think the 'long blaster rifle' that was carried by the sandtrooper during the march to Docking Bay 94, made it into Episode III as the "DC-15" rifle.

For instance, the rifle seen on film has a stock; the 'mg-15' this guy built does not. The general outline of the rifle seen on film does not match the fan-built rifle.

Or my memory could be way off... that sometimes happens, too.
