Thread: Card on victim? Am I crazy or was I just halucinating
Last night I killed a Rebel General using conceal shot. Took forever and got no experiance grr, But when I went up to loot him it looked like there was a Five of Hearts sitting on his stomach. Was this his rank badge or a really cool little thing the put in for us to make us feel more like snipers?
I did not notice this on any of my other kills, but did not use conceal shot alot last night since I was grouped. For those that don't know, some snipers leave calling cards on there victims. Like the Ace of Spades or the Joker.
Never the less the body disappeared when I looted it and I did not get a screen shot.
I'd like to put an Ace of Spades in his mouth ![]()
(for those puzzled by that ref it was the thing the spec ops folks did in Vietnam
)
Leaving a "calling card" on a targets body does not happen in real life. The original calling card was left by Carlos Hathcock, a famous Marine Corps sniper that had the highest kills in Vientam. He would leave a white feather at the site he pulled the trigger. He also got cocky and always wore a white feather in his hat. The VietCong had a very high price on his head. Carlos Hathcock wrote the book on modern day utilization of snipers. I had the pleasure of meeting him once before he died and I also had the pleasure of working with his son who at the time was on the Marine Corps shooting team and a newly promoted Staff Sargeant. That was in '95 I think.
Enough of the history leason...If we could leave a calling card...
that would be cool.
Most likely it was the rank insignia. Rebel rank insignias look like that.
