okay, so I started a new charachter on bria server a bit ago, a rifleman/ranger. this is the bug:

I go hunting, I hunker down and take cover at about 55 to 60m from my mark, I headshot2 it to death. then it dies.

what's the problem you say? it dies, but I get NO XP FROM IT AT ALL. that's right, and it never leaves my combat range, it just stands there for like a second after I kill it, then falls over dead, but no xp for me. and the game obviously knows I killed it because I can harvest it.

this is happening with about half the kills I make. as yet I've only seen it happen when my last shot (the killing blow) is with headshot2, but as that's my primary damage shot at the moment I pretty much always strike the killing blow with it.

this is REALLY anoying me, because I'm getting XP way way slower than I should be.

has anybody else noticed this? most of you probably use headshot3 'cause you've got it, and maybe this problem doesn't exist when you use it, but surely somebody else here feels my pain? how can I ever GET headshot3 if I can't get rifle XP?

using headshot2 or another attack? I'm curious whether it only affects headshot2

it's really rather anoying, I've had to put my rifleman character on hold and go back to my pistoleer, 'cause I don't wanna waste my time not progressing at all playing my rifleman. I guess I'll just wait 'till I see a fix note for it in the patch notes and then I'll start my rifleman back up again.

I've tried this too with flushingshot2.. but im not sure if I don't get the xp, or if it just doesn't show on screen.

when I noticed it I started looking at my XP before and after kills. it's not being credited.

Me too, Im getting one friggin point of combat xp per kill, no matter what I kill and im almost to flurryshot2 **edit** it. Now that I've seen at least one other person is having this problem im /bugging it. Thanks guys.

I'm having this bug too, it is occuring if you have maxed out rifle xp.

don't laugh too hard but go get a wood staff and bet up chubas untill you max xp, then go unarmed then max then survial knife, then axe.

Right Now I'm not even gonna bother to play untill this is addressed. I hurt the condition of my gun faster then I earn Combat Xp

I have this problem with mindshot2. Unless I hit the target with at least one directly damaging hit, no xp at all. Never had a problem with any of the headshots, though.

I just got 1 combat experience for killing a frenzied Grual.

I tried bugging it but apparently the support servers are still down. heh, /bug hasn't worked since the big patch. how ironic.

I went back to playing my pistoleer/CH and am having fun again. let me know when they fix it so I can start playing my rifleman again.

curse the lack of edit:

there seem to be TWO different bugs being discussed here, one where you don't get ANY xp for some kills, sometimes (half the time for me) but full, normal credit for other kills. the other is where you only get one combat xp point, can we verify that all of you who are only getting one combat xp point per kill are maxed on rifle xp? the bug I origionaly posted about most certianly happens w/o maxed rifle xp, as that's what I'm trying to get to move up my rifleman skills.
