CM's are like nukes. You have them just incase you need them, but as soon as you start using yours the other guys start using theirs and everything goes to hell-PyschoticChipmunk -The First line of the Riflenomican.

Now that bleeds have been nerfed, the strategy changes a bit. Riflemen do differ in their approaches, but this is something I've found works well...

The first box you want is Concealment I, because without bleeds, Conceal Shot is now the attack of choice for low level riflemen against higher level mobs. After that, go for the Sniping tree, because that will increase your accuracy, and obviously you can't level very well if you miss a lot because the ratio of damage to mind bar usage will be too low. Unfortunately, the attacks in the Sniping tree aren't too useful for leveling (Mindshot2 has been made practically useless, Headshot3 uses up too much HAM for not much more damage compared to Headshot2, and Surprise Shot...umm what's the use of this attack again? ). But the accuracy will certainly help you level.

Beyond this, I would say go up to Concealment III first, because that will give you ranged damage mitigation 2 and Sneak ability, then do the whole Countersniping tree because that will give you higher Block defenses. The Rifle Abilities tree is gained by combat xp not rifle xp so you'll automatically be able to get those boxes as you level the other three trees.

Previously, bleed shots stacked for pretty nice bleed damage against yellow and even some red con mobs (the con colors are relative to a low level rifleman). Conceal Shot is probably the most viable attack now, and with the Sniping tree, you'll hit with Conceal Shot more often. Also, if you use other weapons, save the combat xp you get from them and put it into the Rifle Abilities tree, because Conceal Shot is a slow attack even if you have Rifle Abilities IV.

I have a bad feeling about this nerf

Sorry but that thread up at the top labelled "FAQ" is, in fact, NOT a FAQ. It is a bunch of badly organized links to outdated threads.

After finding myself going to the same link multiple times, and chasing links to "rifleman 101" where the rifleman class is called casters, and then I'm given a good summary of all the other classes (which I'm not interested in) I decided that the rifelman FAQ does not answer any of the questions I am looking for (and if it does I could spend days wandering around those threads and not find them).

Normally I'm for pointing people to the FAQ but since this board does not really have one (just a link to a bunch of informational threads that is mislabelled as faq) you are going to keep seeing these questions.

Pull out gun, point, aim, shoot. If thats too hard then just try to make sure bullet enters bad guy.

1. Train speed and accuracy first.

2. Use a speed sliced laser rifle all the way to master.

Im master tk/brawler and now ading rifleman to this. Im 4002 in rifleman now.

However i found out how it works best for me geting rifle exp.

i go out some advanced planet. Like yavin. Find a lair with 4 or 5 creatures around. Go prone, shoot 3 shots at every one of them. If i do 4 shots they become all agro, but with just 3 shots i can bring their all mind to 1/3 or less. I agro the last creature so they all come after me. Then finish them all with mindhit (teras kasi). Repeat

I just got this as my holo, i went from master doctor / weaponsmith .... with 0 combat skills ...

I picked up 1/0/0/2 rifleman in 8 hours ......

I figure i can do rifleman in 3 days @ 12-14 hours .... but i gotta wait till i am off work ...

Here is how ... get buffed ... get 80% composite ... get a spraystick ... slice for damage ..... take moen or brandy...

Get savage quenker missions ... and group with a buddy thats looking to solo ...

go seperate ways ... you end up with a group bonus which give 3800-3900 xp per kill ...about 39k per lair and 7k pay ... its beautiful
