Greetings, fellow Riflemen.
All right. I've got a delema and need some professional advice.
Pre-CU, I mastered TKA and was well on my way to climbing up the Rifleman tree. Now, I really want to stick with a powerful range job, and I've always eyed Rifleman for the job. However, I've been reading around, seeing combinations like Commando/Riflemen having the best defense and accuracy, etc and so forth...
Now, I'd really hate to give up TKA; especially with the benifits of Force of Will and Meditate (I'm not sure how much good the TKA armor does for me).
So basically, I'm trying to rationalize going for master Rifleman while keeping master TKA. I'd love to get some feedback on how I can be effective in group combat with a template like this. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Well one thing I can say, TKM has nice innate armor, and right now decay on armor during normal use is too heavy.

If you want to be good at what you do, then you want to choose profs where you can use/have all the benefits at the same time. It comes down to either stacking melee, or ranged, plus the odd exeption that can fit anywhere, like CM or CH.
Depends how you want to play. I wondered about CH/Rofls for a while, but then relised 'ah, no. I can take cover' and I do. I sit and snipe, and I love it. It's what I like best in games.
But if you want to have some tanking ability (I know as rifleman in a group, I _always_ get the aggro atm) then TK is best bet. And as you said, Innate armour is always good.

SWince this game has armor decay, only rich idiots would wear armor as a tank. You'd esentially be giving your group money everytime you tanked for them. Something needs to be done about it, or you will never have a true tank role. The tank couldn't afford it.

Well, I feel a little better now. I did some reading over at the TKA forum, and they clarified the effects of the inate armor for me. Apparently, inate armor at master level grants you an armor rating of 6000 against everything. Add the temporary 4000 boost of center-of-being, and you get a grand total of equivolent of 10,000 armor.
Yeah, I guess TKA/Rifleman sounds like an odd combination, since their skill sets are so different. But I think I'll end up keeping it. I don't PvP, so I'm not worried about classing myself at the top of my player class. All I'm worried about is delivering a strong punch against the enemy, while making sure I don't go down easily.
As for my range staking, I mastered Marksman. Out of curiosity, how does a Master Marksman / Rifleman stack up asa template?
