Thread: Why master Bh and rifleman??

I just dont get it, why go master rifleman and master Bh. MBH and pistoleer 0004 i can understand.

The massive heavy hitting you can do. I've killed pistoleers a number of times without having them attack back. You have a knockdown with underhanded shot, you have kneecap shot to slow the enemy as they approach, and you can alternate improved critical and improved headshot which do 800-1200 damage with a good rifle.


Lead off with an underhanded shot at 65m, improved headshot, kneecap shot, critical, kite, and repeat.

Which is why people use this setup......it makes it easier to win.

I did it for one reason and one reason only...cover. Last night I made my way to a public house took cover inside it and crawled to a point where I had the right range and was clear of objects and waited to attack my mark as he left his house (unfortunately he logged while I was waiting for him but that is how it goes.)


In one word for me it is control. I control when and where I attack, I control the range (through roots, snares and kd's), and (because of the forementioned) I control the outcome.

not that conceal shot works anyways the point of cover for me is to surpise jedi which gives me first chance to apply combo and get then snared/kd'd before they can run away my 3cents

Rifles need more specials to be really effective
BH has many good specials.
It works well

If you don't want to be a rifleman, nothing we can say here can convince you. Like Bounty Hunter, Smuggler, or Commando, Rifleman is a LIFESTYLE CHOICE, not FotM.

Two words: Range and Stealth.


As MBH / MR, I can always switch to a Scatter or Proton Carbine if I need more speed, or stick with the rifle for raw hitting power.

Improved Underhand Shot followed by Advanced Critical is absolutely brutal with a rifle. And you don't need to be prone/concealed/not-in-combat, and there's no "wind-up" beforehand, just the pause as Adv. Critical refreshes after Underhand Shot. Since BH marks are currently very underpowered compared to Master BHs, using a rifle against them usually gives a two shot kill. Easy money.


Also, Rifles/MBH is a Level 80 combination. I'm not sure MBH/Pistols 0004 would be?


AND to top all that off, Rifles/MBH/Pistols 0004 is not only doable, you'll have 18 points leftover to spend elsewhere. (FS Speed, Accuracy andDefense anyone?)Stopping Shot on a melee-only opponent at 65m followed by a series of damage shots until the root wears off, followed by the aforementioned Imp. Underhand + Adv. Critical combo is so good I'd be surprised if the nerf bat doesn't swing.


MBH/MPistols is very good for other reasons, but with the cross-class skills now in play, it has opened up some combinations that were previously not that great. Rifles + BH isn't "the absolute best" combination, but it is amazingly versatile and nicely powerful.

Agreed. In addition, Advanced Startleshot is very underrated; I usually go Stopping Shot, Underhand Shot and alternate Startle Shot and Adv. Critical under they die. The combination of damage and delay will usually kill just about anything before the root breaks.
