Thread: Rifle(person) = Ranged Profession, Right?

Ooops, then again maybe it doesn't. 
Please sort this out, what is the point of having weapons that do best damage if kneeling or prone only to find you get aggroed after one shot because you become the tastiest thing on the menu.

This is related to the new hate system the devs implemented. It is know and well... I hope a fix is on route? All the melee correspondents are complaining they can not hold aggro and the range professions are complaining they get to much aggro so all we can do now is wait.

This must be doubly frustrating for the melee guys, since not only can they not do "their job" by tanking things for the ranged characters; when we pull aggro off them the target rapidly gets out of their much shorter range so they don't even have much of a chance of getting in a lunge on the runner.
At least us ranged folk can sustain fire on things as they come for us. Watching a creature wilt under a hail of rifle fire is pretty darn sweet.

The only other time I attracted alot of attention is healing others alot. I mean, when your group is attacked by multiple MOBs and you go in the center of the group and use something like Bacta Spray, watch out!

I like the bad aggro. I can make fun of the tanks in my group when they get hurt if I don't tell them I have TKM also while I tank for them.
"Geez, you melee suck. I am a riflewoman and tank better than you. Are you sure you are using your specials right? Maybe you should respec to a ranger."
You would think the COB, power boost, and fact I wear no armour and often whip out a vibroknuckler would tip them off, but I have actually had 3 people change when I made jokes like that (not really to ranger though).
