Rifleman Archive

For purposes of combat is the bowcaster considered a rifle, or just a general weapon? In other words, to best take advantage of a bowcaster does a wook need to be MR?

Yeah, I believe it's considered a Rifle. The only real advantage to having Rifleman with it is that you get the Rifle Defense, Accuracy, and Speed bonuses and the really nice attacks that take full advantage of that DPS. Otherwise any Wookiee that's CL 54 (I think) can use it with any of the Ranged skills he already has.

Just to be clear.....he means at CL54 you get to use the ASSAULT Bowcaster which has the best damage etc.

There are also the beginner level 1 and 2 Bowcasters that while they may be useful for grinding up through the skills they just don't cut it if you want a truely powerful Bowcaster.

Using my Assault Bowcaster and hitting a lair after it's final spawn (after the final spawnis important part)I can usually take the lair out in one hit doing 10k of damage!

I put my ADK on my spiderfang Bowcaster and it's all I use now Post-CU!!

my exeptional bowcaster was the only thing that converted well

as MBH/MRifles....i have a DPS of 650 with it pupped (800-1400)

Holy Crap, they need to Respec races........

I wish non-wooks were able to at least equip and use the basic ranged attack with the low-level 'caster: I wanted to RP my trando keeping and occasionally using the bowcaster of a wookiee he killed. 'Spose Ill just have to get one made specially named and display it in my house

Very Happy with my assault bowcaster - ticked at having lost my T21 (MBE/MCH also) but hey - those are the breaks - at lease My Gorax/Krayt Xbow is usable as more that a decorative piece for my character!
