I have enough skill points for 1 line up rifleman, and i was wondering what everyone thinks the best is. I was thinking going up Counter Sniping for the specials, but then i get crap for skill mods. Anybody else?

i agree with rebrifle. you'll shoot faster and you'll be able to put dizzy on a single target or multiple targets which will come in handy during a pvp battle and your group needs some support. if a carbaneer accomppanies you with suppression 2 you will make a force to be reconed with =)

yip.. speed is life to riflemen.. the 4th tree is by far the most useful of the four. Though tbh.. if your not going to master rifleman you really are gonna lose out on the good stuff. Its not really a prof that works well for dabblers.

And thats why i love it

I beg to differ with these guys I maxed out the first column all the way to level 4 sniper shot. I run when I fight keeping the enemy 60m away at all times leading with mindshot 2 , mindshot 1, and then spamming headshot 3 whilst running away from my target as they pursue. When the bleeds kick in they seldom understand what hit them.

depends on what you want to do and your playstyle and other skills.

for instance if your a PVE and have CH skills then you want MS2 and speed.
1003

if you like hunting one target at a time and dont care about how fast. conceal shot and accuracy 3100

if your into PVP then go raw speed 0004 MS1 and the area attack in the 4th branch is pretty decent for the few points spent.

dabbling just doesnt grant enough speed bonus to make the the counter sniping branch worthwhile.

if you just want to slap a huge bleed on someone go 4000 and grab a T21 for its more consistant damage damage slice it and apply a power up. a laser you often get small rolls and end up having to re-apply and that is death sentence in PVP.

just depends on ur style and intentions and other skills. many things and ways to go just dabbling.

Go up counter sniping, you get some good defensive mods that are about to be amped up and you get flushing shot 2, x4 damage to many people and stuns. Then jsut buy some speed sliced laser rifles, I have some that are down to 2.1 in speed. And YES the defensive mods work now and YES they are gettign amped in this patch.

Thanks guys

Basically, im Master WS now and im going to master Politician for my guilds' city, so those will take up most of my points. I wanted to put the rest in a combat prof, and was gonna go with the Med line in TK, but then i cant fight worth crap.

Im just looking for something to let me deal a bit of damage on guild hunts while not getting me killed instantly (melee). Pistoleer just seemed boring to me, and i was rifleman before, so i had a bit of exp laying around.

I too think that the special (4th) line is the best one. Speed will be crucial with the slow rifles (remember it's a percentage increase, not a flat one). With the 4th line, you still have a bleed attack, HS2. On top of that, you get a powerful AE attack, that also make AE dizzy, and huge speed bonuses.

The main drawback to this is that you need combat XP for this, which is hard to come by. However, if you are dabbling into some other profession like BH, you might be able to gain huge amounts of combat XP by using other weapons until you have enough to buy your rifle skills. Might be faster than grinding up rifle.

The only alternative I could see was going 1003. That would give you the second bleed, but still give you the AE dizzy (just a bit slower speed). But since you might end up having the xp for 1003 much faster than 0004 (it's a different kind of xp), this might be a good choice until you get those 150K for the 4th special box...

I can only afford 1003, and I must tell you it's the bomb! Not exceedingly powerful, but against humanoid NPC's the AOE Dizzy is a life saver. Never before would I have tried to attack a group of 7 npc's, with just my non-CH pet. I was doing great until a melee warped and wacked me. Still 2 dead, 3 knocked down the rest hurt is not bad for a crafter.

The countersniping line gives you great defensive modifiers and solid damage. The Specials tree gives you speed and dizzy. It was a tough choice, but I went for the dizzy.
