ok.. i fired 20 shots of each last night.

i found no statistically significant difference between the 2 attacks, as far as damage or speed.

however, flushing2 does apply stun periodically-- which makes startle2 a complete waste of 450k rifle xp (other than the fact that i need it for master).

i haven't tested flushing1 vs starte1, but i bet they're the same. would be nice if startle1 and startle 2 either had higher stun chances (100% would be nice) or had chance to blind, or some kind of benefit.

Or maybe if startle was an up knockdown. Like when it hits, if it works the target just stands there for a few.

Since all the secondary effects are a "chance" to cause the change in state, my question would be whether or not Startleshot created a posture change more often than Flushingshot. That is, Flushing has a chance to startle and stun. As you noticed, the stun effect does not happen every time. The posture change also only happens sometimes. Startleshot's secondary effectis specifically intended to raise posture and raise pusture only whereas Flushingshot has dual purpose secondary effects. Thus, it only makes sense that itwould have a greater chance to raise posture than does Flushingshot.

Klawlegna, do you know the answer or can you find out from the development team?

Barring that, we would have to keep track of the percentage of times Flushingshot raises posture vs. Startleshot. I would be surprised if Startleshot did not raise posture more often than Flushingshot.

And while we are at it, what exactly is the point of having 2 almost identical posture UP AE specials? To make out AE dizzy attack worthless? Why not change at least one of them to posture down? Then we could at least use the dizzy specials with some effect (yeah, I know about supression fire - it hardly works at all, and it's not a rifleman skill). I hate it when I want to use the stun AE and screw up everyone in my group who was using KD/posture DOWN.
