Thread: What kind of skill tapes/armor attachments should a Master Rifleman use?

ok when i pvp i will be wearing super comp armor with resists near 90 and 39% stun on the helm...i have all open sockets on all of my armor and i wear a shirt uderneath that has 4 open sockets, and will be wearing a pack with 4 open sockets...i see attachments being auctioned all the time on the trade forums and wonder what i should be buying to help me with pvp...here are my questions:


#1 do master rifleman need these? if so how big of a difference will they really make?

#2 what kind of attachments are the most important to get first? rifle speed? block? accuracy? what?

#3 how important is upping the rifle crawl speed? does it effect crawling while concealed?

#4 do backpacks use clothing or armor attachments?

Well first you need +10 in rifle speed to cap your Rifle speed. Remeber to put the attachments of Rifle Speed in different Armor part becasue they don't stack. I.E. INstead of putting Rifle speeds +1 and +2 in a Helmet, it would not +3, it would take the highet one which would be +2. Then get Rifle Acc. while moving and other stuff you want like block or defences.

1 - YES.


2 - Rifle Speed +8 or better will effectively cap you out. Get that post haste. Then +25 rifle accuracy and accuracy while moving. Other good things are Range Defense, Melee Defense, Def. vs Dizzy, KD, Intimidate (oh how I hate it)and maybe stun/blind. Block is kinda pointless, and I don't use any of these tapes in my armor.


3 - Skill was removed from the game I believe. So not important.


4 - Backpacks WOULD use CAs, but there is no way to put an attachment in a backpack right now. Use a bandolier if you need more slots.

its +5, with MM and MRM you have +95 rifle speed and you need 100 Rifle speed to max out. So with only MRM u need +10 in attachments nad in MM you only need +5.

thanks so much for the help guys...i am a master doctor and will be master rifleman soon so no master marksman for me...one last question isthe max total of all attachments to any one given skill +25?

For the normal rifles +7 speed is enough. I wont put anything in my armor thou. Only in the shirt, belt and bandolier. Even with the lower decay the skill tapes will be gone some day.

Exactly. Not knowing if his server had prenerf T21s, I just went with +8. But yea, for normal rifles +7 should do the trick.

Your effective cap for speed mods is +97, this will let you shoot a gun up to 9.1 delay at one sec cap. Only exception is if you have a pre-nerf T21 with a delay over 9 then you need +98, which can cap a gun with 14 speed.

thanks for all the help...all i need clarification from several of you is on the rifle crawl speed...do they work or not? if so does it effect crawling while concealed? i have heard from some that the skill tapes help, others say they do not...help me with this and i will leave you alone lol

1) yes, they do help especially if you dont have master marksman


2) Speed and then Accuracy. Block is currently broken and does not work. You may want to invest in some if and when they do get fixed in the future


3) Rifle crawl speed is broken, I know cause i have +11 rifle crawl speed boot and it makes no difference. Rifle crawl speed was taken out of the game in either publish 4 or 5. Im just glad i looted it myself and wasnt stupid enough to buy one.


4) Backpacks do have sockets, and the new schematic backpacks have skill mods. That leads me to believe you should be able to attach a skill mob to a back pack.
