Thread: Advice on skills?

I just jumped back into SWG after quiting due to the horribly negative player comments on the boards (can't stand ignorance of development, as I've been a software developer for the prior 10 years), and assumingI can manage to avoid the boards mostly and stick with the game (which I love sans player comments), I need advice on my char. skills...
I'm massively waffling between BH and a Rifleman / 2H Sword template... I keep thinking it'd be cool to have a "job" as BH (I play 100 percent solo, 99 percent PvE), but I've started out focusing on Rifle/2H Sword... if I stick with Rifle/2H, which would be your Rifleman recommendations?
Master Rifle, Master 2H, Master Marksman
or
Master Rifle, Master 2H, Master Brawler
or
Master Rifle, Master 2H, Marksman 4/0/4/4, Carbine 0/0/4/0 to get the big boost to Counterattack, which would seem to help both the Rifle and especially the Melee?
I'm beginning to think the 3rd choice is the best way to go, unless someone can tell me a good reason I need Master Marksman over the counterattack (such as, for example, the counterattack won't work due to some obscure rule I don't know....)

Well... I'd forget about the counterattack stacking... because it will cap out at 125 after publish 7

I understand they are implementing some type of limit/caps... but unless I'm missing something, Rifle gets no counterattack skills, so if I took those 4 alone in Carbine it would only be +80 Counterattack skill... Seems like it would be a good combo with the Block skill you get with Rifle... yes? Or is there something I'm not following on the cap issue or the way those skills work?
