Hey, I'm a novice riflemen, loving it and can't wait to work my way up. I just recently took up two handed, but the health and action drains are really screwing me up big time. Is there any other way to deal with this other then Buffs or Chef's food? I'm a medic 3-0-0-0, so I stim when I can, but I've knocked myself out quite a number of times. Anyway this is the my set up so far:

Human:

Health - 600/400/400

Action - 750/400/500

Mind - 1000/600/700

I realise in the future my mind secondary stats are going to have to come up, but I don't know how I'll handle all this. I really can't afford the buffs...so anyone have any ideas?

The SWG cycle:
1 - "This game is AWSOME"
2 - "Oh MAN! That battle was AMAZING!"
3 - "I'm really getting sick of this grinding, but I'm almost there!"
4 - "I swear if that bug happens again, I'm quiting!"
5 - "Oh screw this! I'm quiting"
6 - Repeat from step 1

um well as a twilek my mind stats are as good as they are gonna get:

950/500/500

It's called use food buffs,
Brandy x2 and canaps x2 will raise your focus/willpower by 1500-2000 with that you can shoot till your destroy your weapon and never lose mind

I have found depending on weapon the 2 shots of brandy can be good enough.

I think TalonCard missed the point of your question a bitsince he focused mainly on mind buffs. What I understand you to be saying is this: You have to setup your mind to be able to use your rifles effectively, and this means that you have robbed Health and Action stats to boost mind stats. Then, when you use your 2 handed weapons, you find that your are taking large hits to your heatlh and action because Strength and Quickness are so low.

As a Master Rifleman/Master Swordsman, I have to deal with this problem. A typicalPowerhammer has Health Costs of 115. So using the PH with a low Strength is like using a T21 with low focus. Using the 2H Curved Sword or Cleaver hits hard on Action. So what do you do?

Well, the answer is, it depends on how you see your profession mix. If you are primarily a brawler with Rifle as a secondary, you are going to have to shift stats to Health/Strenght and Action/Quickness and hope to boost your mind with foods and Muon enough to be useful.

I, personally, look at Rifleman as my primary profession and Swordman as my way of dealing with things up close. So I have my stats heavily favoring my mind, but I have more points in Health, Stength, Action, and Quckness than do most riflemen. I believe I am at 700/500/400, 700/500/400, and 800/800/600. That may not add up, but it is something like that. Since I am a novice medic, I can deal with the low regen on HA by using stems. This is not enough to keep me from hitting Health and Action hard when I use my 2H weapons, but then usually do not do anything significant without doctors buffs, and I never do anything without Brandy and Corellian Icecream or Canapes.

If I am going to be in a fight of any kind without Dotors buffs, I will use a Pixie to deal with Health and Action. But note that that the boost from Pixies does not help the Action substats as much as the Health, so you need to be careful. If I have buffs and am on the above foods, I will then have a pixie and a muon on standby in case I start to run into trouble and need one or the other.

If your a human do 1100/1100/800 Focus and mind are most important then willpower. Rely on buffs all the time

i would question putting your mind so high. You should put points into focus to decrease special drain. Putting points into your actual mind pool will look nice at first, but when you get hit in the mind pool or drain it from specials down to 900 or something it will be like you never put points into it at all.

Your going to need to use doc buffs, there is no otherway to play two diffrent professions that use Two or more diffrent pools.

Sinceyour a human this is what I would do

Set your HAM to

800-400-400 800-400-400 800-1100-500 and get a Master doctor to Buff your Strength and Quickness. This way all you lose is mind, if you get a musician to buff you, you lose nothing.

well i'm master tka so making my mind super high benefits my powerboost. IF I have 1100 mind and 400 health and action, all I have to do is use powerboost and it will give me 950 health, 950 action, and 1650 mind and it lasts for 15 minutes with no side effects.
