Hey everyone,

Recently returned to the game after quitting last August/September, and I've decided to start a new character on a new server.

I've been planning on trying out rifles this time around, and maybe doing some melee as well (TKA or Swords perhaps), and I was just wondering how big of a role does play? I've always enjoyed playing my Rodian, but I remember back when I played last, that he had a hard time using rifles, as his mind stats weren't that great (he was a Pistoleer). With the state of the game as it is currently, with doctor buffs and spices, does race really matter all that much?

Could I still make an effective Rodian Rifleman/Melee for PvE and/or PvP? The reason I ask, as in part because on the first night I returned, I was chatting in the launcher chat room, and people said to either go Human or Trandoshan if I wanted to do a Rifleman/Melee; I'm just wondering how the race comes into play. Iknow this doesn't necessarily belong in the Rifleman forum, but since I am planning on going with rifle to some extent, I thought maybe you all could help me out.

Oh, one more thing. I know this might sound odd, but can anyone recommend a server with a large mature player base? It seems the server I started my new character on is full of junior high kids with AlTeRnAtE SpElLiNg NaMeS and the like.

with doctor buffs and dancer/musician buffs and food like vasarian brandy and canape I think a rodian could do as well as other races

Pick the race you like the best. Any hurdles you come across can be taken care of with armor/buffs/food/drink/spice.

As for a server....well, I only really have experiance with Eclipse and I've never regretted my decision. We have people from all over the world with it being an 'East coast' server. There are plenty of 'Uber 1337 pwnrs!!11!!' too but I find them easy enough to avoid. In general, everyone is very helpful and friendly.

The different races can effect things. I've noticed the difference ( unbuffed ) between my Zabrak ( which can heal at full rate pretty much indefinatly ) against my Bothan (which can't regenerate quick enough). Both with maxxed memory. So yes, if you run out of mind buff the race can matter.

However if you keep yourself stocked in BE'd Brandies and stagger their use so you are allways buffed by it when hunting as long as you have put your memory stats fairly high you should be ok on any race.
