Thread: Just Mastered Rifle But There Was One Hell Of A Price To Pay

Over 2 million!
Yes, it took me over 2 miilion in armour, weapons, travel, etc to master this damn profession.

why so much... i did it 4 days just playing a few hours a day and i didnt even use up a suit of armor... where did u grind it out???

I had a thing about overcharge shot 1 which wrecks yer weapons faster than anything. I went through:
2 laser rifles
2 DXR-6b's
3 T-21's
1 Jawa Rifle
However now I am using strafe shot 2 and its MAD.
I also went thorugh:
3 suits of comp armour (well boots, helmet, gloves and chest)
I hunted on tatooine, dantoooine, endor, dathmoir, lok, rori, nabo, corellia

why would you do that??? rifles have very useful specials at all lvl's... HS2 woulda been a better choice over OCS1 anyday... where did you have to travel too??? ya can do all of rifles easy on dant, heck even talus with torturs it can be done... or head to the geno cave with a tank friend and in like 2 buff sets ya can do it... AoE spam if ya lay in the tunnel faceing the main room... nothing to agro trhough the walls that way... or stand in the correct spot where the mercinarys are and ya can AoE without bringing any kwi on ya...

i mastered rifles and spent 3.8 million. but it wasnt for such a waste as weapons and armor, i did quenkers and maulers on dant, went through 1 chest plate. but that was because i fought some NS in between my grind, and i traveled to coronet a few times to pick up some auctioned wins. the 3.8 mill was for my speed AA's so i'd be capped when i got there. you spent 2 mill on equip when you couldve used 1 gun for the entire grind and at a certain lvl in rifleman, killed quenkers without armor on. also...what happened to your repairs did they all fail or did you just shoot your gun into oblivion and leave it to rust at your last mission.

Seriously when your spending as much as you would ot master a combat profession as you would a crafting profession.... your doing it wrong....

How to master rifleman: [From Novice Rifleman, not Marksman]
1. Suit of Ubese Armor - 150k
2. Speed sliced or damage sliced Spraystick (if base speed is less then 1.9) - 25k (2) = 50k
3. Speed Sliced Laser Rifle - 25k
Take out SprayStick and proceed to HeadShot2 Quenkers on Dant for approx 3k per kill
Learn the first column so you are 4002 (or so)
4. Take out Laser Rifle and Headshot3 Huurton Huntress (or Stalkers if you get in a group)
Round out your template at 4033 (or so)
5. Take out Laser Rifle and Flushing Shot2 Huurton Huntress/Stalkers to Master
Make sure you skin the hide from the Stalkers/Huurtons because it is Wooly hide and if you end up getting a good spawn of it, you can sell it for 25+ CPU to your local Armorsmith.
Say you spend all together (with Buffs etc) 500k for Master Rifleman.
You can make that back from the missions you run, and/or the Organics you sell back.
Just my 2 cents.

Rifleman cost almost nothing for me to master. Once I got 2-0-2-2 (with laser rifle on endor with buffs but no armor hunting crazed gurreck missions), I switched to a DXR6b, and did quenker missions without buffs. I just would take 2 brandy, lie prone, and spam head shot 3. I got the x-x-x-2 quickly because of saved up combat xp from BH. I did the majority of rifleman unbuffed, with just brandy. Surprise is your friend. Quenkers go down in 3 hits with a DXR and head shot 3, which is enough time for them to not notice you.

Uhm, you can do rifleman with no buffs no armor and Just a T-21 which means it's essentially free
All you need is ConcealShot and you're golden.
1)Have concealshot (first box of concealment)
2)Get a rifle
3)Go to Endor
4)Hunt anything except Gurrecks with said rifle and Concealshot, feel free to go after the red cons, they won't have a clue. It's much faster than going after the tiny stuff and you get 5000 xp/500 combatxp for the Dragonbird thingies
