In your case currently I would not switch to master rifleman - master BH/Pistoleer can rack up the xp fast if you are headed for jedi and you can create a new Persona once you get your new Character slot that can be rifleman (I recommend - human T_T (stupid stat bug))

Trandoshan is probably not the greatest race for rifleman but it is no worse then any other race (other then human and maybe mon cal) out there though.
