Thread: How I think Rifleman should work

I think that the rifleman's ability to not draw aggro and to snipe without being found is a great tool. It doesn't work in pvp though cause all you have to do is follow the energy back to the shooter and u found the sniper. Plus you can see them on your radar. So I'm thinking that the t21 should do kinetic. I'm sure there's some kind of star wars lore to fill the gap on the description of that weapon. Well anyhow so it does kinetic right? Dont make it like the kinetic pistol where u can still see the projectile but instead like a real gun. Like you can't see a bullet right? And perhaps a silencer to protect against those with 3d sound. So, there's one problem left with that. All I'd have to do is look on the radar and I'd see where they were. So I'm thinking as you advance in rifleman you could have the dot that represents you on the radar become more and more transparent to others while ur in the cover state. It could advance to the point where it's like that screensaver thing that's like a clear bubble that moves around ur desktop and warps the images u see on the screen. That way people could still see the distortion easily on a plain of grass where the land is flat but not much at all if there were lots of irregularities in the terrain and folliage. The sniper can hide physically, and on the rader, in bushes and and rocks and stuff but not out in the open making it more realistic. Also the name would have to beserved the same effect as the radardot. My aim is not to give the rifleman more power but to improve the experience of it. In PVE it would still be the same but PVP would be more dynamic. It wouldn't be too hard to avoid a sniper say in coronet or something because there are hardly any places to hide. At say the imperial outpost you'd probably get a lot of overt rebel snipers picking off teffed imps. That in turn would draw out more overt imps to take out snipers. More overts. This game needs a boost in PVP. I think this would improve the fun of the rifleman class and the overall of adventure and role playing in the game. Also I think that the rifleman does shoot too fast. But I'm also thinking its just as possible to fire a rifle as fast as a smaller gun real life. That would be true in the star wars realm as well. Although, it would lower the accuracy. So I'm thinking that the rifle should cap at 2.0 normally but would be able to cap at 1.0 through a quickfire mode that would allow for the speed but take off some accuracy. Anythoughts on the future of rifleman?

Nope. It's most definately energy. Here is the background info on it.

BlasTech T-21 Light Repeating Blaster

Larger and more powerful than the typical blaster rifle, the BlasTech T-21 Light Repeating Blaster is the largest weapon that can be carried and used by one soldier. Primarily used in large-scale military actions, it provides support for Imperial army and stormtrooper squads as well as cover for artillery gunners. Because it is a portable weapon, it became popular among Rebel factions and is still used by some New Republic units.

At 1.5 meters in length, the T-21 is perfect for soldiers who need to set up a weapon quickly and with minimal fuss. Along with a belt-mounted tripod and a backpack generator (weighing 20 kilograms), the T-21 can be set and ready to go within 30 seconds. Although it can be wielded by a single soldier two-handed, use of the tripod improves its accuracy out to its maximum range of 300 meters.

The T-21 is capable of being powered by a power pack, but it only contains enough energy for 25 shots. However, use of the backpack generator provides near unlimited ammunition, but its firing rate is limited to one shot per second due to the generator's low cooling capacity.

The power behind the T-21's blaster bolts is amazing, being known to penetrate infantry armor, personal forcefields and even armor plating of light combat vehicles.

The only kinetic rifle is the Tusken Raider rifle, to my knowledge.

Depends on how it was coded, although any way I can think of coding it would be easy to change damage type or AP on any weapon. Especiallyusing a database.

Worst case I can think of is that the weapon info is stored for every weapon, which would require an update for each instance, still pretty simple just time consuming. Although any constant like that shouldn't be stored on each instance of a weapon.

ok I guess I made it way too complicated. I know how rifleman is NOW. I am talking about how I think rifleman SHOULD be. I think I'll do something more productive like...smell my finger...

Insulting people makes it hard to make friends

And fyi, while I did reply to one person in this thread, I didn't even read your first post thanks to the lack of spacing(it hurts). Be thankful anyone took the time to read it and reply to you directly(especially with all the people telling us how 'they think Rifleman should work'). Don't take this as an attack, but you do need to think before posting certain things sometimes.

I think that it's imprinted on the weapon when it's created. I've heard some say they still had some Blast damage T21's. So it appears they didn't all change when that was changed. However that probably doesn't mean that they couldn't change all the damage types retroactively. It could mean that when they changed the T21 it wasn't a viable option but it could be now.
