Thread: Low HAM or High Damage Jawa Ion Rifle which is better for specials in PvP?

I have a few of both, "high" damage (without a powerup) whose Max Damage is around 300.

Then I have a few IonRifles that have some really low Mind costs in particular.

I haven't had the opportunity lately to test this for myself, but in the meantime - I was wondering if anyone out there has already considered this.

With respect to PvP and using Headshot 3 and Mindshot 2 - with the Jawa Ion Rifle - which would most of you, my fellow Rifleman - use;

The High Damage, High HAM cost Jawa Ion Rifle

or

The Low(er) Damage, Low HAM cost Jawa Ion Rifle.

While I can see the immediate tendancy towards the Higher Damage Rifle, I do question its use in PvP when you're using the specials I mentioned above - with the intent to exclusively go after your opponents mind while not draining your own mind pool.

However, something I'm not sure about with Mind Shot 2 is - if the bleeding stacks - and if it does, then perhaps MORE shots, from a Jawa Ion Rifle doing less damage - but able to maintain a constant rate of fire without jeopardizing your own Mind Pool - is the better alternative; as it would allow you to focus on your opponents mind pool with "less" threat to your own Mind Pool.

Hopefully all that made sense.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Well, I don't PvP much, but since I do know that generally you go into PvP with your HAMs all buffed up, you should probably go for Damage. High HAM costs are totally unimportant if you are buffed.

When I PvE, I use a T21 and a DXR6-b both with HAM costs (mind, in particular) close to 100. If I am buffed on mind foods, I can fire my most expensive mind shot (Strafe Shot 2) at full speed (once per second) without losing any color off of my bars.

To clarify my first post (and you may already know all this), my mind is constantly buffed with BE Vasarian Brandy (drink, obviously) and BE Ahrisa (food). With two of each of these, Mind cost of my rifle is totally irrelevant.

OK, with that said, I realize that your stomach is limited. Since you may have other PvP foods you consider more important, you may not want to over-indulge on the above two items. I would at least take 1 of each if possible.

Always go for higher damage in pvp. Like the previous poster said, with brandy, and ahrisa, your secondaries should be high enough that the high ham costs should not take any mind pool to use specials. Also try to get dancer and music buffs before you go out pvping. With the right set of food/buffs you should be able to get your mind up to about 5000. One last thing to have is blue milk. It's saved my butt a number of times

Hook up with some entertainers that can give you music+dancer mind buffs then you can save up stomach space for other things like synthsteak, blue milk and defense foods. High damage is the priority in PVP.

Jawa's are usually lower HAM than most of the other rifles in your inventory. Go for damage always. It'll help alot if you have to pound through someones stun layered helmet if you didn't bring you dxr-6b.
