Hello all. I've been sneaking around your forum a bit lately. I realized that on those rare occassions when I do get into fights, I pull out my pistol and stand as far away from the "heat" as I can. I don't like all that confusion and stuff.

Then it occured to me....I fight like rifleman.

Just about that time, some rifleman shot me from like 2 miles away and killed me.

And yeah, that sucked, but it was cool too. So I thought I'd get in to rifle skills.

Since I have none now, I thought I'd craft my CDEF rifle and shoot some gnorts for a while.

Here are my questions:

Should I craft my own CDEF rifle to start out with, or are there better suggestions?

What should I concentrate my experimentation on? Durability, Damage, or Reduced HAM costs? I'm a Zabrak with good mind stats, but rather poor action stats.

What sort of power-ups should I buy and take along with me? I don't know very much at all about combat and weapons. I make droids. So excuse my ignorance.

Unless your a master weapon smith, I'd just go and buy a rifle from one of them They usually make the best stuff.. There's also a wide variety of power ups out there... You can go with damage or speed .. I think those are the main ones people use.

Get a good Laser rifle a nice t-21 and a Jawa... if you want to E11 are nice to...

Then get to Concealshot (Concealment Tactics I) first... after that you can use conceal to climb the sniper and counter sniping technics... Flushing2 is very nice and it's at counter-sniping III

Hehe, I'm a DE as well... I started on artisan aiming for DE but picked up rifle for that defence and to join in on guild-hunts.

If you currently have no skills and cant get a laser yet then get a DLT20a. Excellent rifle, good damage, speed and low mind usage. When you can qualify for them you should pick up a jawa and a laser. Forget the CDEF rifle, very poor. You will love what the DLT20a can do in comparison.

From Novice Marksman to Rifles 2, use a DLT20. Makes sure it is not a DLT20a. At Rifles 2, get a good Laser Rifle. I'd advise taking whatever slice you can get, unless you can afford to buy rifles till you get a good speed slice on the DLT20, and Damage on the Laser.

Pups - Get a few crates of Dmg/mindcost for the DLT20, but once you have Rifles 2, use Speed /mind cost. If you can deal with a slower rate of fire, but more damage, then stick with Dmg/Mind Cost the whole way.

Ok, so now you are a Novice rifleman. I went up sniping, then countersniping, then concealment. You will pick up combat xp along the way. most will say to get conceal shot first, but I disagree. I did all of Rifleman without conceal shot, and still never use it. IMO, while safe, it is a big slowdown.

Once you get Master, get yourself one of every type of rifle there is, and pick a few that you enjoy shooting. Also, you should consider a Muon Addiction now, by the time you hit Master you'll be going through a case a day if you do a decent amount of hunting.

DLT20a cert comes with Rifles 1. Novice marksman only has DLT20.
