Hello mates
Im an all around combat character. That is something I have discovered. Scout, medic, artisans and all that simply does not appeal to me
So im going brawler/marksman!
And marksman has some really cool classes.
But I would like to know what role the Rifleman has?
Is the rifleman the sneaky sniper or the heavy gunner who takes the hard mobs?
What are they compared to the carbineers(they are sub machine gun medium ranged fighters?) and the short ranged pistoleers?
Rifleman has some cool looking weapons, but I would like to know, what their strong points are.
The sneaky sniper who can silently kill an enemy with a headshot, or the heavy gunner. Or something else?
Thx in advance!

I would say we are more of a support role. We stay back and attack while the other classes go in and fight up close.

Kinda both, in PvE with rifle concealment chance you can shoot and shoot and shoot with little worry that you'll be attacked by your target. In PvP we are more of a heavy gunner that candb at long range and deal out large amounts of dmg.

We target the mind pool, it's not that easy to heal in combat. Also some ofour weapons i.e the T21 and Laser do have armor piercing so we do more dmg against targets with no armor and even dmg vs targets with armor or resists still get hit with decent amounts of dmg.

Riflemen are both sneaky and blasters. We have concealshot, that when it works, Lets us spend all day sniping dangerous critters by ourselves. The tales of Riflemen using concealshot to solo Krayts and Kimogilas are numerous and true. In PvP we are pretty useless till we get to be high level or master. Once theres, we can kill (Deathblow) from a distance, do massive damage to other players really fast, or hit them in hard to heal HAM pools (Mind). This all costs us a LOT of our own mind, and all rifleman need to use Food, Drink, and often, Spice. I myself use all 3 when I have them on hand. I'm a master Rifleman/Master commando, and Commando I dont use much any more cause its been nerfed so bad.
If youre going brawler, Go TKM. TKM are the masters of close range combat, and are the highest damage output profession in the game. They hit for over 2K every SECOND in PvE (Critter combat) and in PvP can take a buffed player down to nothing in moments. A guild member of mine, with heals from the guild master doc, Took down most of a rebel base filled with Players pretty much by himself in minutes using the right specials, spice for his mind, and good tactics.
Rifle is harder to level than Pistoleer or Carbine because the weapons lose effectiveness as things get closer. And EVERYTHING in this game, from critters to players bum rushes you (With the exception of other riflemen, and #$*%^ Combat Medics (A profession that renders all riflemen useless in moments for several minutes IF theres a doc on hand with cures. If not, youre screwed till the disease wears off, AND you regen ya mind. Oh, and you cant shoot them cause they throw their crap at ya from 90+ meters, which is 30 meters outside gun range, and they NEVER MISS) as fast as it detects you. Rifleman is a hard profession to master as you need expensive/rare weapons (unless you use a laser rifle) and you drain from a personally unhealable pool (from your template). But once you master it, I found it's worth it. I do great damage fast, I can kill from a distance (Which no other profession in the game can do) I can area dizzy if I get lucky, and if I get the urge to go hunting, I can go after the nastiest critters in the game by myself if I have the time and the patience and a bit of luck.
