Thread: Question about my T21

Those damage stats on the T-21 are good, and depending what server you're on it could be REALLY good or just ok.

As for levelling rifleman, i say just go from left to right, with the exception being the furthest right tree (combat xp not rifle xp).

Rifleman are good offensively and defensively, so in town defense just headshot people. I dont recommend doing strafeshot2 (as master) if there are any stormtroopers (if you're IMP) or mercenaries (if you're REB) because you'll get your own forces to agro you. And for hiding in balconies to shoot, you cannot do that because when you get a TEF, and you'll get on even as Overt you get kicked out of the building you're in.

My suggestion regarding PvP is just to practice it, you'll figure out what works best for you over time. Oh, and i wouldn't bother with PvP and rifleman until you're master.

Excellent point.... Untill master Rifle is tooo slow to be effective.... If you really want to.... try it. But Master makes all the differance...

I just recently took up Rifleman and I have a few questions. First one is about my T21 heavy. I bought it and had it sliced...33% to dam. I just want to know if it is actually as good as some people are making it out to be.

Second. I am not much of a PvP person..Mostly PvE. I was wondering what skill tree I should climb first. I know everyone has their own opinions and I don't want to start and arguement here. I just would like to know what path you have chosen and why. Personnally I have taken counter-sniper 1 for the bonus's...

Lastly, what role should I play in defense of a base or town? Can you snipe from a balcony? If so, is it effective?

770 damage on a T21 is very good. The best I have ever gotten with one I have is about 620 max damage after powerup. Cherish it.

If you are leveling, I would go:

0 1 0 x

0 1 3 x

4 1 3 x

4 4 3 x

4 4 4 4

Getting Concealment 1gives you Concealshot. This gives you Headshot2 and Concealshot to level the Countersniping3 to get to Flushingshot2 as your best AOE shot other than Strafeshot2 at Master. After you are there, go up Sniping to4 for the accuracy bonuses, then the rest of Concealment for the ranged defenses and damage mitigation, then finish off Countersniping. Rifle Special Abilities will progress on its own since it is Combat XP, but pick up those boxes as fast as you can because that is where your speed increases come from.

Prior to the bleed nerf, I would have suggested getting 1 x x x early on, and you can still do that, but the bleeds have been nerfed so badly, that it is not as advisable. Headshot3 at 2 x x x is only useful if you are buffed (high focus) because the added damage (only .5x more) is not worth the extra mind costs unless your focus is high enough (somewhere over 1200) to over come this. You can still get these before moving up Countersniping if you want, but you will do better getting to Flushingshot2 for the 4x damage and AOE.

Regarding base/city defense: In almost every case, you cannot shoot from balconies, such as those in player houses, even though they are considered "outside." You will get a "You cannot see your target" message if you try to shoot.

Your best place in defense is away from the heart of the battle. Skirt the edges of the battle and avoid the temptation to run into the thick of it. Use this distance to pick and choose targets and decide on the best way to kill it.

BTW, as has been said many times here. Mosr than any other profession, it is usually best to avoid PvP as a Rifleman until you reach master. The difference in speed makes you surviveable in PvP like you would not believe. Before Master, you just shoot too slow to survive against anyone except lower level characters or people who are just plain do not know what they are doing.

Oh yea, for pve I recommend being a doctor, the doctor/riflemen combo is a nice self sufficent fighter with the ability to buff himself on cue. Buy some moun/brandy and you can jump into any battle fully buffed at almost any time. This combo is also a good money maker. However, if you pvp, I would go with either Heavy Swordsmen or TK, as the melee defence is nice and the abilty to smack the guy in the face when he gets up close is awsome (no, not just awsome, amazing). However, you WILL need doctor buffs at almost all times in order to be able to use your melee skills (you have to migrate all your stats to riflemen, period). This can cost a lot of money and sometimes it can be hard to find a doctor. It all deppends on what you want, if you want more money/self sufficency then go with doctor, if you want more power, go with TK/swordsmen. Either choice is good.

The SWG cycle:
1 - "This game is AWSOME"
2 - "Oh MAN! That battle was AMAZING!"
3 - "I'm really getting sick of this grinding, but I'm almost there!"
4 - "I swear if that bug happens again, I'm quiting!"
5 - "Oh screw this! I'm quiting"
6 - Repeat from step 1

Gotta disagree, I started going back to PvP at 4/2/0/2 rifle and didn't do bad at all, just took the right powerups.

BTW currently 4/4/2/4
getting there

Don't use the T21 until xxx4 or master, it'll be way too slow to be effective and you'll probably lose it to a bad repair if you try to grind all of rifleman with it. Use speed-sliced laser orE11 for grinding, they're much faster and more accurate.
