Thread: Just made Novice Rifleman...what weapon is best to use?

I just made novice rifleman today and was wondering what weapon is best to use.
I have a sliced Laser Rifle (max dmg 380) and a T21 (max dmg 400ish). Should I be looking to use one of these weapons or buy a new one? I thought the T21 would have had a lot better stats than my laser rifle so now I am confused.
Also, any ideas where to buy good quality weapons? I am finding it difficult to find any better than I already have.

Use a laser rifle most of the time but get one with better damage (if available on your server). The laser normally has higher damage than the T21 but has lower armour piercing, that's where the T21 comes into play.
If you're shooting something with no armour (most creatures and NPC's) you don't need armour piercing, so go with a laser, otherwise the T21 is better.
On chilastra I levelled up with a laser rifle with max damage around 500 (700 and something with powerups). Just make sure it has decent speed and not too crazy mind costs if you can find it.
Where to get them depends on your server. Hang around coronet starport for a while and ask some riflemen where they buy theirs.
And don't forget your stat migrations.

What should my stats be?
I currently have nearly a full kit of comp armour and use muon.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am a Twi'lek.

If you can afford comp and muon then you can afford buffs.
So, migrate as much as possible into mind and its secondaries and split the rest whatever way you want (probably maxed secondaries all round to get that comp on).
And don't use muon. Get some vasarian brandy and take 2 hits of it. There are also lots of foods these days with mind buffs. With decent brandy you'll have 800+ to all 3 mind stats for at least 30mins. Keep some neutron pixie in your inven for when you want to shoot but can't get buffs.
There's a good thread in here about stats. Have a look there as it's really debatable what is the best setup.
